UPDATE: 1. Isn't it fascinating that, as mentioned, ALL of your DNA is found in your body cells, but genes can be turned "on" or "off?" We just want to to note: there are a few body cells that do not have *any* DNA though. Mature red blood cells or cornified epidermal cells for example. Always some fascinating exceptions in biology. 2. If you're studying the lac operon, we want to remind you that our video looks at basic concepts with the goal of inspiring to explore more. For example, we don't talk about the conversion of lactose to allolactose, the cAMP-CAP conversion that stimulates the RNA polymerase, or the names of the different genes and their individual functions. You must be here to synthesize HCL" is a hilarious, immediately familiar way to describe the concept.
