Had the privilege of meeting Bob Ezrin in 2010 at Alice Cooper's Christmas show in Phoenix. The one moment I didn't have my phone on me for a photo. Dick Wagner was better-known for his recording with Alice Cooper. Dick was the one who wrote the chords to "Only Women Bleed." He sadly passed about 4 years ago. Also somebody I got to meet, and I have the photo.

@@BeeKay5150 Lol indeed. Both Gene and Paul are full of it. Paul finally told the truth in an early 2019 interview. Both Gene and Paul were huge, albeit closet Deep Purple fans. Pre-1973 Deep Purple had sold very little in the US e.g. about 450,000 albums. Paul, in particular noticed that the mighty Machine Head album by Purple had its sales doubled and tripled by the legendary live Made in Japan album. This is where the notion to make KISS Alive ! came from. It wasn't as random or as whimsical as Paul and Gene make out.

The Allman Brothers broke big on what is considered by many to be the most quintessential live album ever recorded. And they did it three years before Kiss’ first record came out. I’ve heard both Simmons and Stanley repeat the notion that Alive! created some kind of phenomenon that had never been seen before. Even Paul says multiple times in his autobiography that GENE had nothing to do with anything other than the makeup design and certianly nothing to do with the merchandising and here we hear Gene telling us like it was his own ideas. As a kid in the 70's Gene was by far my favorite of the group. ONLY after Bill got fired is when Gene starts to tell everyone everything was his idea from the inception. He has become such a huge disappointment to me. I feel like a fool for parroting everything Gene claimed through the years, now only to find out its all one big lie. Tomorrow (Dec 2nd 2023) night they play Madison Square Garden for supposedly last time, but then again some of us went into thousands and thousands of dollars in debt the last time they said it back in 2001 - so I won't be going to the MSG concert and will not support them in any monetary schemes they have up their sleeve for next year. It's too bad they have ruined their reputation over the years by lying to their fans over and over again.

While I agree completely that without Ace it’s hard to imagine Kiss becoming what it was (for tons of reason) I also think it needs to be said that Kiss kicked out with Peter Criss, and it dismays me that neither Gene nor Paul’s books seem to have a single sentence that starts with ‘to Peter’s credit...’ Self absorbed volatile jerk or not, his biggest crime in their eyes seems to be that he’s not John Bonham, and they both seem incapable of recognizing that a Charlie Watts/Phil Rudd/Faces style drummer was exactly what Kiss needed and maybe what made the Kiss sounds so unique and special. It’s like Spielberg or Lucas back when they didn’t have access to too many special effects and had to be smarter about how to get things across. Nobody but John Bonham was John Bonham, and I’ll tell you right now Bonham would’ve eaten all those guys alive trying to fit into that band. Not to mention, my god do Gene and Oaul go out of their way to diss ‘Beth’. For the record tho, Gene if you ever see this thank you from the bottom of mine and every Kiss fan’s hearts for saving Ace from drowning in his bathtub. You deserve much gratitude and credit for that.

All four of them were equally important, and I wish they could all say nicer things about each other and appreciate each other’s contributions a little more equally. Just sayin’.
