I love it when Gene steps out of the "character" for a bit and just casually talks about music and stuff. I'd listen to him all day long.

Excellent point!! The real person is almost always more interesting then the stage persona they are trying to satisfy!!

Kudos to Gene for giving credit where credit is due... Eddie and Dave together brought rock entertainment to another level. Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin were great but the ultimate rock band crystallized with Van Halen and there will be no one that will ever surpass it!

Van Halen with Roth was simply unrivaled and the craftsmenship and energy was like a sound freightrain coming at you at the concert and thru your house when you were playing it at home and except for, in my opinion, the synthesized Hagar stuff in the late 80s, all still holds up to this day. Its like wine, doesnt age poorly, it gets better.

That was true, 1978-81. They went wimpy from about 1982 onward. But those first two albums are untouchable!

Awesome Jeremy! Gene was a big step in the world getting Van Halen! Thank you Gene! I love the original "House of Pain" which runs into "Runnin with the Devil" on a later demo.

Great to hear Gene felt the same way as I do about that original "House of Pain" demo being a locomotive that doesn't stop. First heard a lousy-quality tape of it in the early 80s, & even then, I couldn't figure out why they never included it on VH1 or VH2. Powerful performance. Gene did a great job capturing that one.

You’ve got yourself a cool show here Jeremy 🤘 I’m assuming your Canadian by the way you talk & carry yourself because i’m a Canuck myself & was born & raised in a small town in St.Marys,Ontario,Canada which is in between London,Ontario & Stratford,Ontario & only about an hour & a half from Toronto. Then this small town kid moved to the big rocking armpit of Windsor,Ontario which is right across from “Detroit Rock City” in October of 1997 right around the time “KISS” was doing there reunion with the original members & my apartment in Windsor was pretty much beside the “Ambassador Bridge” & i forget what month it was but “KISS” played the old tiger stadium & wow where my apartment was i could honestly see the lights from tiger stadium all lit 🔥 up & the music clear as a bell being right across the river from tiger stadium & the wind was perfect that evening & being a 19/20yr old kid & had been playing bass for about 5yrs by then & Gene Simmons was on my bedroom wall. Anyways keep up the great work Jeremy 😃

There is something oddly appealing about Gene Simmons. Sure, he's a non-stop self-promoter, but I respect his business savvy and willingness to always promote and sell. The guy's got more money than he knows what to do with, but his instincts are what they are, and his work ethic, considering his age, is remarkable.

Gene is goofy if he thinks the House of Pain demo makes the 1984 version sound tame. They are both great in their own right, but the 84 version is thunderous

How the hell did Gene Simmons force Ace Frehley to do anything . He has no control over Ace. Gene Simmons tries to make people think that he is a big shot ,but he is not. I'm pretty he hasn't forced Ace to do anything. Gene just needs to go away!!!!
