Politics and international relations aside, you gotta admit, it takes a tremendous amount of courage and self confidence to give a speech like Obama did to a crowd of foreign diplomats who can't stand you.

@dimitrisz.31349 жыл бұрын
EsquizoGenio 1 I don't see how conquering America has anything to do with religion. What drove Europeans to conquer America was an imperialistic ideology, nothing to do with religion. Native Americans died because they weren't immune to many deadly diseases. And both world wars weren't religious wars. It was just suprerpowers clashing. How can it be a religious war when the most participants were christians themselves. What happens today can only be equivelant to the crusades which was hundreds of years ago. And my point is, that no christian religious leader today has any authority or any real power. Unlike the islamic religious clergies in several countries who have political power. The world would be better if no abrahamic religion was ever invented, not just christianity.

When I first tuned in to CNBC today I heard him say, "This is a vision of the world in which might makes right....That bigger nations should not bully smaller ones" I thought he was talking about our country. No serious and honest intellectual would ever take any part of this speech serious. Why would Iran ever trust the United States? They have no reason to. When has the US abided by international treaty? Iran has not violated the Non-Proliferation Treaty. They have the right under that treaty to enrich uranium for "peaceful purposes." This speech reminded me of George Bush's speech at the UN. He was telling the world what to do even though the US has messed things up in the Middle East. "The only language understood by killers like this is the language of force." Eerily reminiscent of the American genocide of Native Americans. "Do unto your neighbors as you have them do unto yourself." So I guess they should drop bombs on us. That's the way we treat people around the world. If we disagree with them politically and they are sitting on a natural resources we want then we bomb them. What about the radicalization of police officers shooting unarmed African-American teenagers? "Yes, we have our racial and ethnic tensions?...But we welcome the scrutiny of the world because what you see in America is a country that has steadily worked to address our problems, to make our union more perfect, to bridge the divides that existed at the founding this nation." Who takes any of this serious?

Listened to President Obama addressing the world's political leaders at the United Nations General Assembly in which he proudly asserted the United States is the #1 economic and especially military power in the world and America intends to maintain that status -- by force if necessary. Obama offered mere abstract reference to the dangers of man-caused Climate Change -- abstract inasmuch he did not state that the United States will take the overwhelming and necessary action to not only halt this growing disaster, but reverse it. Meanwhile, as today's article in the Guardian newspaper state, the planet may have not only reached the environmental tipping point of little hope, but surpassed it. It may well be that all is already lost as far as the future of humanity is concerned!

I will never understand this claim that 'islam is peace'. I have read the qur'an and I do not find in it the teaching of peace. The muslim people may be peace loving people, especially when living among their own... but I even doubt this... (we have only to look at the muslim world) people are people... some are peace loving, some are agitators... it is just the effect of human nature.... but I see nowhere in the teaching of islam anything that counters this agitative nature.... especially when it comes to muslim attitude towards anyone who is not a muslim.

Heretofore I have considered myself to b an anarchist and I actually really appreciate the message of his speech. The one detail that ruffled my feathers, tho, almost instinctually was how he framed the israel /Palestine conflict He makes it seem as if Palestine holds the largest part of power and responsibility. However, a significant portion of his speech is against sectarianism, and if Palestinian sectarianism fuels the conflict in that region I can understand how his view might be slightly biased and partial because, since the US and Israel are close allies, the extent of their communication with one another is likely greater than that between Palestine and the us, so I can forgive him for his biased framing or partial formalizationsurrounding that issue.

We spread freedom sometimes by force but in the end we do not keep our power there forever only for a period of time. HYPNOSIS - Inducing a high state of suggestibility, often thinly disguised as relaxation or meditation. a. Repetitive Music (most likely with a beat close to the human heart 45 to 72 beats per minute). Most likely used during "study sessions" as the teacher will say the music helps you relax and concentrate better! b. Voice Roll -- A "voice roll" is a patterned, paced style used by hypnotists when inducing a trance. It is also used by many lawyers, several of whom are highly trained hypnotists, when they desire to entrench a point firmly in the minds of the jurors. A voice roll can sound as if the speaker were talking to the beat of a metronome or it may sound as though he were emphasizing every word in a monotonous, patterned style. The words will usually be delivered at the rate of 45 to 60 beats per minute, maximizing the hypnotic effect. c. Room "Feel" - The way a room feels is essential to hypnotizing unknowing subjects. It needs special lighting, florescent lights are best because they aren't too dim, but aren't too harsh. Also, Room Temp helps a bit, usually a little cooler than normal room temperature. You need to have the unknowing subjects very relaxed, perhaps even close to falling asleep. 2) PEER GROUP PRESSURE - Suppressing doubt and resistance to new ideas by exploiting the need to belong. 3) "LOVE BOMBING" - Creating a sense of family through physical touch, thought & feeling sharing and emotional bonding. 4) REJECTION OF OLD VALUES - Accelerating acceptance of new lifestyle by constantly denouncing former beliefs and values. 5) CONFUSING DOCTRINE - Encouraging blind acceptance and rejection of logic through complex lectures on an incomprehensible doctrine. 6) METACOMMUNICATION - Implanting subliminal messages by stressing certain key words or phrases in long, confusing lectures. 7) REMOVAL OF PRIVACY - Achieving loss of ability to evaluate logically by preventing private contemplation. 8) DISINHIBITION - Encouraging child-like obedience by orchestrating child-like behaviour 9) UNCOMPROMISING RULES - Inducing regression and disorientation by soliciting agreement to seemingly simple rules which regulate mealtimes, bathroom breaks and use of medications. 10) VERBAL ABUSE - Desensitizing through bombardment with foul and abusive language. (Physical abuse, such as torture, is the more extreme form of this.) 11) SLEEP DEPRIVATION AND FATIGUE - Creating disorientation and vulnerability by prolonging mental an physical activity and withholding adequate rest and sleep. 12) DRESS CODES - Removing individuality by demanding conformity to the group dress code. 13) CHANTING OR SINGING - Eliminating non-cult ideas through group repetition of mind-narrowing chants or phrases. 14) CONFESSION - Encouraging the destruction of individual ego through confession of personal weaknesses and innermost feelings of doubt. 15) FINANCIAL COMMITMENT - Achieving increased dependence on the group by 'burning bridges' to the past, through the donation of assets. 16) FINGER POINTING - Creating a false sense of righteousness by pointing to the shortcomings of the outside world. 17) ISOLATION - Inducing loss of reality by physical separation from family, friends, society and rational references. 18) CONTROLLED APPROVAL - Maintaining vulnerability and confusion by alternately rewarding and punishing similar actions. 19) CHANGE OF DIET - Creating disorientation and increased susceptibility to emotional arousal by depriving the nervous system of necessary nutrients through the use of special diets and/or fasting. Also applying drugs for these purposes fall in this category. 20) GAMES - Inducing dependence on the group by introducing games with obscure rules. 21) NO QUESTIONS - Accomplishing automatic acceptance of beliefs by discouraging questions. 22) GUILT - Reinforcing the need for 'salvation' by exaggerating the sins of the former lifestyles. 23) FEAR - Maintaining loyalty and obedience to the group by threatening soul, life or limb for the slightest 'negative' thought, word or deed.

"declare war to war" This is ridiculous. You're declaring war to a terrorist goverment THAT YOU CREATE, that YOU financiate yourself. If not where do the weapons come from?
