It's because it seems the writers don't care for women and also the writers have NO idea how to write about relationships. Love is seen as desperation and they feel like throwing around platitudes make two people connected. There is no way in hell they should make Brenda desperate in love for Sonny. Also, all the romance has been taken out of soap operas. The only love it seems is parent to child..it's really weird. The only reason Sonny is with Carly is because of the kid connection, they have no real romance. This is a SOAP OPERA not a family sitcom. I wonder if it's the Disney affect...I can't figure it out for the life of me, but I can say most people used to watch soaps for the messy love drama between couples, kids were a product of the drama not the reason for the drama or love connection. I agree with everything you said but I truly believe she did write that she was pregnant with Sonny's child in the letter. I believe she was pregnant when she left and didn't say anything because of what was going on at the time. Carly, Jax, their custody battle, her and Sonny fighting about Carly and Jax, the mob, being safe. I can see why she wouldn't have told him then. Not to mention his attitude at that time. He was not in the best place for her to tell him something like that. I hope when Vanessa returns, that will be a huge part of their story. There is still so much story left to be told between Sonny and Brenda. They belong together. Always will.❤
