In my opinion this generator has a very satisfying sound to it. ESPECIALLY when it is starting up!

Cool, I just watched your other video where you did a building load test and I suggested a resistor load bank run and here it is.

The dummy load’s fans sound very similar to some of the servers we have at my job lol. NetApp storage arrays to be exact.

I hope there's not that much heat coming out of the servers lol

@@nics-systems-electric only about 1000ish watts. No where near that 😂😂

i have one of these at my house but 240v 450A.i built a load bank in front of the fan…. the turbocharger is so loud you can’t stand near it without ear plugs or phones and my exhaust doesn’t glow red got 600° egt all i ever seen 😅👍

Probably not they don't do very well.

What's the rule of thumb for adding fuel because even when you're not testing it or the power isn't out the generator runs weekly or whatever it's set to automatically to make sure it's working? Like do they wait until it's 50% or below?
@nics-systems-electric10 ай бұрын
It does not start weekly just whenever the power goes out or someone manually starts it we seem to fill it up if it's below 60%

Are all the generators in school district open frame? Cost reasons I assume not using silentpack housings even though indoors. Cheers
@nics-systems-electric10 ай бұрын
Only two of the generators are open frame indoors the rest are all outside

I don't know if your able to do this. But I'd like to see the generator switched over to the building and then set the fire alarm off and see if the generator is able to fire up all the ventilation fans, doesn't seem like it'll be able to do it but we'd live to see!
@nics-systems-electric10 ай бұрын
I don't know if I would ever have the opportunity to do that but it would do it that's what it's engineered to do
@thestihladdict174310 ай бұрын
@@nics-systems-electric that's what I thought...I'd be hard to pull of lol. I know the generator is spec'd for the application. It just seems like those fans would over load it given it's size and whatever building load is on it already. Another question is. Are you guys on a diesel fire pump, electric, or right off city mains?
@123ABC-Machine-BasicsАй бұрын
Curious why the gen control panel indicates 345 volts ? It's a 3 phase unit, should be 208 or 480 volts.
@nics-systems-electricАй бұрын
Should be 347/600 a drop of 2 V at load is within acceptable tolerance

Could you monitor the condition of your generator setup using your Garage FACP?

I could monitor it for running status not much more than that

I know you said that the fuel filter change slowed the start-up, but how does changing the fuel filter make it struggle to come up to speed like it did?
@nics-systems-electric2 ай бұрын
Because there's no fuel in the line the fuel pump has to pump it there first

Buy leaving the door open to the room you’re not really testing shit. You need the door shut to test the room can supply sufficient air. Also stop saying 100,000 watts its 100kw.
@nics-systems-electric6 ай бұрын
It's not using air from the room it's pulling air directly outside over the radiator door open or not doesn't matter. And I can say whatever I want it's my video don't watch it if you don't like it. you should also know the K in KW 1000 which is used in many different measurements.
