My dad was one of the investigators who had to interview Shawcross before his trial. My dad was 6’2” and a military veteran, but when he came home after interviewing him, he ran into our bathroom and vomited several times. This was also the first time I ever saw my dad cry. He would only ever say that he had met the devil.

THIS... My great uncle who was a veteran from the Vietnam war used to boast about the hand trophy he has in his basement. He showed it to my cousins and I who were mostly 9-12 years old, and I have never felt that sick to my stomach. Fun fact… my dad was the cop on transport during his trial here in Rochester where I grew up…. and actually if you watch the documentary on Arthur Shawcross, you'll see my dad walking him in-and-out of court. I remember my dad talking about how creepy this guy was and what made it worse is that if you didn't know that he had done anything you would think he was just a normal old man...and then as soon as he starts talking you know something's off. Growing up in the area, everybody knows about him, But once you know about him nobody really talks about it
