She was a little girl who was going to visit her friend and half way though she met him, he wanted her to go with him to "get lots of candy" but she refused and ran. She was running and screaming and then met some people and Chikatilo ran away. Years later she saw him on TV when he got caught. Scary

I wrote a psychology paper on this guy a few years ago and I remember reading about how his mother would tell him about the older brother being eaten, and this became sort of a fantasy/fetish for Andrei. This explained why he would eat the organs of some of his victims. His mother would also threaten to let him get eaten when he misbehaved as a child which was a major factor in it all.

There are two factors behind such threats. One, they are quite common in Slav culture - I'm from Poland and still being eaten by a witch as a punishment for misbehaving was rather common for parents to use when dealing with naughty children. Second, the famine Bailey mentioned was so terrible, that people were forced to eat dead bodies to survive. Most probably Andrei's parents either witnessed act of such cannibalism or at least heard of them.
