Genesis #5 - Why are Families So Painful?

In Genesis 4, we start to see the effects of the Fall on Adam & Eve's family and how it negatively impacts generations, starting with their sons Cain & Abel. Ultimately, in this sermon, Pastor Mark concludes that everyone needs Jesus because, though it can be easy to get haughty, in this story, Cain is a picture of humanity and Abel is a picture of Jesus.

Just started this video… Adam and Eve had a child… without the help of a midwife, a prenatal doc,, an obgyn doc…. Or a “what to expect when your expecting” book… wait, so Adam had to deliver their baby?!?! No help? No KZbin “how to give birth to the very first baby in the entire history of the world” videos??? But wait, there was God… well God, as omnipotent as He is, He certainly could assist in helping Adam with this delivery! For me, I’d be afraid I’d faint!

I only know my own answer. I used to pray for my dad to come back. He never did. I learned God does not force people to do right, and sometimes we are the victims. I later met my dad several times, and saw his personality. My dad was an alcoholic. If I'd had to live with him, my life would've been far worse. I see the effects of my parents and grandparents in my life. Some things were good and some bad, but I take full responsibility for my own life. I managed to overcome with help from church and Christians. In fact some of my friends asked me how I turned out "normal." I forgave my parents late in life when I learned more about them, and I don't talk or think about them much. It's good you are pouring out your sorrow, especially to God. He will give you understanding and healing. Don't talk or think about it all the time though. People can use info against you, and you can get stuck in the past. There really is a penalty for not "honoring parents," for gossiping about them and blaming them. So don't do that. I wish you many blessings on your journey. I hope you find much to be grateful for and you're able to understand and forgive people.

Abortion is wrong. However, God gave us free will. Therefore, I will vote pro-choice. Not everyone is a Christian. The country was founded on the separation of church and state. If somebody of another faith said that I have to cover my hair, face, etc. and vote it into law because their holy book said so, would that not feel unfair? You can vote pro-choice and NOT agree with abortion. I believe several states have too strict of laws. Some states won’t even allow women to get an abortion even when the baby has been declared dead even before it was born into the world. This is the land of the FREE! Americans should vote for the FREEDOM of choice and follow God if THEY CHOOSE to do so. 27:31
