A Gufa, or what is here called a reed hut, has been historically documented as carrying tons of quarried stone and other goods over cataracts. A significant modern error is to simply assume that they would be flimsy and small because of their construct. Fitting all the many animals on the Ark has been a problem for skeptics. But consider their may have not been that many " kinds" of animals back then. 1 kind of dog ( wolf) not like today. 1 kind of snake, etc. Perhaps there weren't as many different kinds of each animal evolved as their is today. This would greatly reduced the amount of animals on the Ark.

Not to mention that Noah was a pretty smart guy considering he was a few hundred years old when he was commanded to build. Although not supported by scripture it’s not unreasonable to think he was smart enough to bring the babies. They are smaller and they eat less and reach reproductive age more robustly onto the new land rather than older, larger animals that might be “past their prime.“ I think there might be some merit in this line of thought.

Yes my friend.🙏 And if you don't resonate w/some parts of the Bible it is ok..Idc what anyone says, I kno the truth..The Bible is the most important piece of literature ever written my opinion but it has been heavily altered by man and more importantly by Enlil aka Yahweh and some of the other beings that where originally from the Pliedies that our ancestors referred to as the "Elohim", "Annuna" or "The Annunaki" which came to this planet for gold and other resources and they tampered with our DNA and engineered many of the beings/plant life that live on this earth then and still til these day like cheetahs, dogs, and even all the mixed species that were hear about in all the ancient tales like Anubis for example. They were also referred to as "The Watchers" who created the Nephilim in the book of Enoch.(Which were the true inspiration for the the Greek/Roman pantheon of gods and many other cultures all around the world.) That is the real reason for the contradictions, anger, and mistakes god makes in the Bible. But one of the gifts God gave us that wasn't tampered with and is still active if our DNA is intuition, and if you use it you will kno the truth when you see/read it. You just gotta listen to your heart instead of ignoring it like most of us do in this day and age..The knowledge is literally within you..God luvs you, and you are special and kno matter how hard things may seem, it is all for a purpose you will one day serve. Thanks for the video. I agree with the covenant theology, but I disagree with the fact that God always send a prophet before judgement. No, he doesn’t. People are already without excuse by natural light (Romans 1). Sending a prophet is his grace to further expose them, but that doesn’t mean they weren’t exposed before. There are many times in the Scripture that God has executed judgment without sending a prophet. Even today, there are many who has died without hearing the gospel, and they are still without excuse. On the other note of preserving animals, as you have mentioned before, the ground was cursed because of Adam. Animals would not be created like the way in prefall genesis. Rather, they will be created through redemption, emerging out of judgement.

Unlike so many churches and Christian apologists your comment section is open. I applaud your openness to discourse. Your visuals are quite good as well. The first Hebrews are descended from a Chaldean culture. Noah is simply derived from older epics that had nothing to do with YHWH. I’d bet what we see in the Bible is the child of Chaldean, Canaanite, and Egyptian cultural elements being blended together. Some traits lifted wholesale. Other traits were altered to honor multiple traditions. The Exodus story, Noah’s Ark, and other stories demonstrate this. This tradition of borrowing even extends to the Nag Hammadi scriptures where Eugnostos the Blessed being repainted as Jesus. All this brought together to for one body.

This explanation may look reasonable and reconciling the Genesis flood account with modern science (and I'm all for it). However, IMHO this may create immense theological implications. Why? "For behold, I will bring a flood of waters upon the earth to destroy ALL flesh in which is the breath of life under heaven. EVERYTHING that is on the earth shall die" (Gen. 6:17, ESV) This is quoting God's words. If the flood was regional, then people and animals in China, in the Americas and Australia must have survived the flood without even hearing about it. Were predeluvian Chinese and Incas more rightheous than people of predeluvian Middle East? Then the above quoted words lose their validity. IMHO trying to reconcile regional flood theory with the Genesis account of flood creates more problems than it is trying to solve.

What I want to know with respect to the ending points surrounding measurements and idealized numbers: Its certainly worth considering, but seeing as how only 2 out of the 3 measurements of the ark were related to idealized numbers I would argue that its still more likely a near approximation than an outright replacement. Did they idealize 6 feet into 24 meters? or did they idealize 20 meters into 24 meters? Yes, A.R. George said the Babylonian ziggurat dimensions have been characterized as being on a tablet more interested in abstract ideals than real buildings, but absolutely no data was offered to demonstrate any kind of relation between actual measurements and their idealized records. So that sounds more like contrived conjecture rather than a serious grappling with the data. But not having read his full work, I will reserve full judgement on that. it seems as a variant of the Euthyphro Dilemma... good is dictated by God or God is accessing a Good in which case the good is other to him; but the 3rd option is that God is Good so such as God is good so is he also reasonable. so it isn't a kind of circle where God is giving you the reasoning power to confirm him; I would think atheists find themselves to be reasonable for saying he doesn't exist so it makes little sense to suggest the above question to be the case; because we see it to not play out in reality; unless that is you suppose God or Nature to be an overwriting force that removes any kind of free thinking...

That video does not talk about evil and wickedness (or the motivation behind God doing the flood). The only place where this is talked about in the linked video is from 4mins 51secs to 5mins 15secs where you mention second peter 2-5, you say that the passage could be interpreted as saying that the flood was meant only for the ungodly people of that specific local area in that specific moment in time. This does not follow with the present video at all. The present video talks about God wanting to restart things because humanity is so wicked and evil. The same question stays: *Why would God only destroy a small region of the earth, if the whole world was so wicked and evil?* You say yourself that the whole world was filled with violence and corruption, even letting Noah move out of the "local ungodly" flooded area to move into the regions He spared (everywhere else in the world) could be dangerous because of the ubiquitous ongoing battles there.

Absolutely 0. and THAT is only to see a signal they would have needed to send into the void. That doesn't factor in that any signal they sent would have to have been done waaaay in the past to reach us, so they would've needed to speculate that someone else is out there and wanted to look for them, knowing that they could be extinct long before their signals reached intelligent life. Even if they had universe extent teleporting technology where they could just to any point instantly the universe is so vast it would be like guessing a bitcoin private key by brute force guessing with a keyboard. The time it would take to search the universe is infeasible for any number of beings with any level of technology. There will absolutely never be aliens. The Need for Spiritual Discernment "These people are false apostles. They are deceitful workers who disguise themselves as apostles of Christ. But I am not surprised! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no wonder that his servants also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. In the end they will get the punishment their wicked deeds deserve." (2 Corinthians 11: 13- 15) NLT. John tells us that the whole world lies in the power of the Evil One (1 John 5:19). For this reason, spiritual discernment is of utmost importance. Thankfully, Hebrews 5:11-14 reminds us of believers “who through training have the skill to recognize the difference between right and wrong” (NLT). In other words, we can get better at distinguishing between truth and error through practice. In today’s passage, Paul mentions he was dealing with false apostles disguising themselves as servants of righteousness. The same thing happens today: Such servants are all around, “peddling their wares.” It’s their attempt to carry away those who are always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth (2 Timothy 3:7). We may find it challenging to match wits with false apostles, but we can subject them to the obedience test found in 1 John 2:4: “The one who says, ‘I have come to know Him,’ and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.” However, this test works only if we ourselves know the truth. Dive into Scripture today so that you can “examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good” (1 Thessalonians 5:21). Knowing God’s Word is what will help our quest for godly wisdom. Amen.

Hi. I don't know much about the arguments for or against a global or regional flood, but I do see something from Scripture that hints at a global flood, or at least a flood that was present in all areas that people and animals dwelt. In Genesis 9:11,15, God promises never again to 'DESTROY THE EARTH' and 'DESTROY ALL FLESH' using a flood. When we look at those verses, and the passage as a whole through faith, combined with logic and our own experiences, we arrive at a problem with the regional flood interpretation, at least one where some people or animals were spared, apart from Noah and his family. The reason is because God promises never to destroy the earth, and ALL FLESH (NOT ANY FLESH) using a flood. Now, we see regional floods occur almost yearly where lives are lost. In my lifetime, there have been several storms and phenomenon that have caused floods that have killed people and animals. Therefore, if God meant that He would never again cause a regional flood, then that promise would be null and void, because people and animals have been dying due to regional flooding. However, the rainbow, which is the sign of this promise, is still seen in the sky, which means this promise is still active. But if He meant a global flood, which I feel is what the text says, then the promise is active to this day, because there hasn't been a global flood after Noah. There is one more argument for a global flood. The rainbow is a sign of God's promise not to destroy the earth using a flood. If God's promise was only concerning a specific region or people, then the rainbow shouldn't appear in areas where communities die from floods, and yet it will appear even in those areas. I find it very hard to accept regional flooding as it applies to Noah and the ark, simply because Scripture does not suggest it, and neither do our own experiences when interpreted by faith through Scripture.

@@SomeRandomDude000000 You're right, sea creatures were not destroyed. I'm not sure if sea creatures are referred to as flesh in the Bible, but it is clear that the flesh spoken of in Genesis 9:11,15 are all animals that move above land. This is for two reasons: 1. Genesis 7:21 specifies all kinds of creatures that were destroyed by the flood: "ALL FLESH THAT MOVED ON THE EARTH perished, birds and cattle and beasts and EVERY swarming thing that swarms upon the earth, and ALL mankind" Genesis 7:21 NASB 2. When God makes the covenant to never again destroy all flesh using a flood, He mentions the creatures that He is making a covenant with, but He does not mention sea creatures. He specifies that this covenant is with Noah and all living creatures that are with him, listing all animals that move on the earth/on land, which He later refers to as 'all flesh'. "Now behold, I Myself do establish My covenant with you, and with your descendants after you; and with EVERY LIVING CREATURE THAT IS WITH YOU, the birds, the cattle, and every beast of the earth with you; OF ALL THAT COMES OUT OF THE ARK, even every beast of the earth." Genesis 9:9-10 NASB "It shall come about, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow will be seen in the cloud, and I will remember My covenant, which is BETWEEN ME AND YOU AND EVERY LIVING CREATURE OF ALL FLESH; and never again shall the water become a flood to destroy ALL FLESH." The first half of the video is great and doesn't have any major issues, but lets address the second half where things really begins to go downhill; (1) 8:50-9:15 Looking at it from a local flood perspective, if the intention was only to destroy the portion of mankind present in a particular region of Mesopotamia, and if these were the wicked and violent people described (which doesn't make sense if all mankind across the world was wicked and violent), then there should have been no problem travelling out of the area and into a safer place, neither for humans nor animals, and constructing the Ark and gathering the animals within this compromised area would certainly have been no safer. Looking at it from a global flood perspective, all mankind across the entire world was wicked and violent, and this is what saddened God so much, especially with the knowledge he had to destroy the entire world to exercise judgment and justice, and Noah and the animals moving away from the floodwaters wouldn't have been possible, and the massive Ark would have been required to preserve Noah's family and the many thousands of terrestrial animals that would otherwise have become extinct, and it would have stood there as an impressive testament to the coming judgment and news would spread to all people. (2) 9:15-9:45 Not only could Noah have easily moved, but all the wicked people could easily have moved themselves, especially once they realize there's a [local] flood happening. Also noting that if all mankind over the whole Earth were corrupt, then that should obviously include all the people that were spread out across the rest of the planet at the time, not just whatever people were present in a particular area in Mesopotamia, and thus the flood seems pointless if it only killed a small portion of all mankind, and God's sadness would be much more understandable if both the corruption of mankind and the flood itself were global in extent. (3) 9:45-15:05 Regarding preserving animals even though it wasn't necessary because God could just recreate them (just as he created animals directly from the ground during the Creation Week, which I'm surprised you don't take issue with), and animals being used to send a message in similar fashion to other Old Testament prophets (although it might simply be true that God sought to preserve animals just for the sake of preserving them, with other reasons such as those mentioned in the video being additional reasons, and preserving the animals was actually more understandable than the strange acts of the other prophets mentioned), I don't actually see how this is an argument in favor of a local flood or an argument against a global flood, but this reasoning seems to work in both a local and global context, with exception to the concept of a do-over with the entire world becoming corrupt which makes more sense within a global setting. (4) 15:05-16:50 By referring to idealized dimensions, you're implying God did not provide accurate measurements for how large the Ark should be? Most scholars would admit that it doesn't seem very reasonable that the text would suggest the Ark being made out of reed, especially not if it indeed was as large as commonly suggested and considering reed boats do not get very big and wouldn't be fit for all those animals, especially not for a year, and the common dimensions and descriptions of the Ark as this large vessel built out of wood makes more sense with the description of the flood itself as a global cataclysm. I realize a lot of these presentations are merely trying rather hard to fit the biblical record of world history with the secular views of world history (often inspired by John Walton) and causing more confusion, and I'm saddened that you're not coming at it from the approach of having the secular views submit to the Bible.

1. I already debunked this in the video. Noah cannot be a prophet and warn of judgment is he leaves. 2. They could have just left Sodom as well, couldn't they have? What is the point? People didn't like to leave civilized area in the ANE, so they would have remained and dismissed prophecies of the flood. 3. I never said this doesn't work on a global flood. I am starting to think you didn't pay attention to what I said. 4. Yeah, where does it say the dimensions have to be accurate? You are assuming your conclusion.

@@InspiringPhilosophy (1) I may not have been entirely clear in my original comment, but I was referring to the moment when people realize that a flooding is occurring and people (not just Noah) would logically assume it would be wise to move, either by walking to higher ground or using boats to travel on the slowly rising waters. (2) Sodom wasn't warned like the people of Noah's days were, and they couldn't have moved because the fire coming down from heaven consumed them quickly, whereas in this local flood scenario the wicked people could have easily moved once the event is happening, which they couldn't have done if it was a global flood. (3) I did pay a lot of attention going through this video multiple times. It's possible I may have misunderstood some point you made, but I'm fairly certain I didn't. I also didn't say that you used this as an argument against a global flood, but I referred to how these videos are largely centered on providing a local flood perspective. (4) You're implying (unintentionally perhaps) that God doesn't provide accurate information and in essence that God is deceitful, and this principle of inaccuracy could easily be applied to the rest of the Bible and render it all nonsensical, worthless, irrelevant, and unreliable. It poses a danger that leads people astray.

@@Xenosaurian Your last point is just a slippery slope fallacy. I have to ask why it's important that the measurements are accurate? Is that really the most relevant part of the story?

1. Not if it was rapid and took them by surprise, as the evidence shows: kzbin.info/www/bejne/on22qpyAbrCIedE Also, the flood waters would have been pouring in from the mountainous and regions of higher elevation. It would not have been an easy escape and many would had to have traveled for miles to get away. 2. That is arguing from silence. It just doesn't mention the warnings, but given the numerous other places in scripture where there is a warning from a prophet it is likely there was one for Sodom as well. 3. You did, to quote you, "I don't actually see how this is an argument in favor of a local flood or an argument against a global flood," 4. No, that doesn't make sense. It is not literal or a lie. That is a false dichotomy.
@Xenosaurian4 жыл бұрын
@@InspiringPhilosophy (1) I've seen the video, but exactly how rapidly are you suggesting the flooding occurred? The study doesn't seem to suggest that it was a flooding event too difficult for the people in the area to handle, and it doesn't seem to suggest that waters would have been pouring in from all the higher elevations (however that would have been achieved). Again adding that they could even have used boats to travel on the rising water if necessary, which is a common practice during floods, and animals certainly would just be able to leave the area beforehand. (2) Fair enough, but it's irrelevant and doesn't really make a difference in regards to the main point. (3) No, I didn't, that statement was me expressing my uncertainty of whether this point served as an argument in favor of either a local flood or global flood, considering these videos have been consistently arguing for a local flood while arguing against a global flood. I didn't say it was an argument either way. But if it's not an argument, then never mind. (4) Why do you say it isn't literal and why would God not give accurate descriptions for the size of the Ark?

@ We shouldn't focus upon The flood but Jesus and his teachings,sadly many don't(including myself which is something I need to change)and the majority are the professing "christians" along with the modern day churches who neglect Christ for the old testament or Paul's epistles. I highly recommend The Channel A Voice In The Desert,they try to get people to obey Christ and his commandments once again when many don't. What if God hit with a regional flood all the people he intended to kill? In your videos on Genesis 1 you make the point that Adam and Eve were not the only humans God created but special humans, the first priests. That was actually quite convincing. Later in Genesis we get to know the genealogy of Adams offspring up until Noah. All of them probably lived in the region hit by the flood and died in the flood. All but Noah and his sons and their wifes. Seems like this explained a regional flood without too many reinterpretations and assumptions being made.

Where did God see everything going? Did he see us becoming like the Imperium of Man from Warhammer? Or did he just see us destroying ourselves?
