Change the spring to lighter spring and check your vacuum lines. A hole the size of a grain of salt can literally kill the vacuum and the bov won’t open

Hey man, really great video. My question is what size hosing did you use for the install? Putting my HKS on this weekend and just needed to know about what size I needed for my install. Thanks ahead of time man!

Thanks! I used 1/8” inside diameter hosing on mine. Works great!

Thanks man really appreciate it, your video will def come in handy when I install mine this weekend! Keep up the awesome videos man!
@BlindSight12346 жыл бұрын
If you don't mind me asking, did you use it throughout the entire install? And what type of hosing? Lol sorry
@VehicleEvolution6 жыл бұрын
The hosing I used cane with my BOV. It’s the only hosing I used. You only need to use a larger diameter if you are tapping into one of the lines from the intake manifold. I went right from the tube that was feeding the solenoid but bypassed it all together.

Wrong installation.. at the end we cleary hear turbo flutter and not the bov.. have someone rev the car for you and watch the bov im pretty sure its not opening
@DrewB77776 жыл бұрын
Wrong, all bk2's have turbo flutter regardless of the bov/intake setup.
@trailexploring28106 жыл бұрын
Andrew B his bov doesnt do any sound... its all flutter also his vacuum hose setup is weird ur supose to take ur vacuum/boost directly from the manifold
@chicoon41816 жыл бұрын
Yeah you should hear the BOV significantly. I had the same problem with having no air coming out and a bunch of flutter, one of my hoses was bent so it wasn't letting air through. Not sure what the problem is here though.
@VehicleEvolution6 жыл бұрын
I actually recently redid the hookup and brought the line right out of the manifold. Sounds great now. Will do an update on it in a video soon.

Vehicle Evolution What was the modification?
@johnerwin93476 жыл бұрын
BOV does nothing to improve hp or turbo spool lmfao, it's a safety measure to let air out and release pressure on the intake when you get off the throttle
@spectrum8705 жыл бұрын
Not sure why you're spreading misinformation but the stock bpv on these cars and most turbo cars suck. And once you get a tune they dont hold more than 15psi well. Mine is dynotuned at 24psi. My bov actually broke and had to put stock one on. Couldnt hold 20. So yes a bov can give you better throttle response and hold more boost. Increasing output
@gr_nic5 жыл бұрын
@@spectrum870 yeah you can only put that much pressure on your intake, when you install a blow off valve it just releases the remaining boost in to the atmosphere, rather than circulating it back to your intake. But it does make the mixture richer if not tuned....
@spectrum8705 жыл бұрын
@@gr_nic yes but only true for cars with a MAF sensor. Genesis coupes use MAP sensors so you can vent to atmosphere stock without dumping fuel and being super rich. Maf sensors are right at the intake so if you vent, the air being measured is lost and the car will go rich for lost metered air. Map sensors are Filter > Intake > Turbo > Intercooler piping > Bov > throttle body > Intake Manifold >Map sensor. So you're fine

Take off the filter. And I'd suggest smaller lines. It's definitely not opening you would hear a loud high pitched sound. I'm surprised you didn't get a check engine light.

get an sfr or btr tune, they are worth every penny and provide good hp gains
@VehicleEvolution7 жыл бұрын
A tune is definitely something I’m looking at. Doing some research to see what the best way to go is.
@mikeb10317 жыл бұрын
well powerwise, best is to go custom tune but you need good supporting mods and that would not be ideal for daily driving. i have an sfr canned tune on my 13 2.0t stage 1.5. going canned SFR is by far the safest and most suitable for daily driving with a few mods. BTR canned tunes pull more power than SFR can, but the ECUs are not able to be further tuned after installed. but if you are planning to do major mods with your car i would go with btr custom, if you are only planning to keep slowly modding, i would go with a good SFR pre-tune for now, as they are a bit cheaper.
@VehicleEvolution7 жыл бұрын
It’s probably going to end up being an SFR tune. At least from what I’ve researched it looks like my best option.
@brandonhauser10096 жыл бұрын
sfr tune is cheaper for a reason, btr I got told that it pushes the car a little more. I have only gotten a btr custome tune and gas pedal a lot more sensitive lol.. never had sfr tune but it seems like you can not go wrong with both. most people go with sfr because it is cheaper which makes sense btr and sfr is basically the same tune but btr may push you back in the seat more than the sfr by a little bit. I got told that the ecu tune some people do not find a difference in acceleration were as the stage 1 basic bolt ons btr custom tune will notice a lot of difference in acceleration. custom tune is better than the ecu tune but can not go wrong with both they are still a tune and ecu tune will be a lot cheaper than a custom tune.
@brandonhauser10096 жыл бұрын
The guy that I got the tune from even sent me a chart that a 2013 stock genesis coupe 3.8. The stock car did 277 whp and 244wtq, the tune did 290whp, and 264wtq makes a huge diff and that is a stock car no mods what so ever.

Yes very PRO and clean install. I’m just getting j to the genesis myself, but I’m a huge Hyundai fan(Owned 3 Santa Fe’s). Is 15 psi stock boost for these cars or is that on a boost controller? Also what do you recommend for fuel management and injectors?

Did you have a hard time seating the snap ring? I cannot get it to seat in the adapter at all.
@VehicleEvolution6 жыл бұрын
It was a pain in the ass. I posted a pic on my current set up to the gen coupe thread you posted on Facebook. Originally I ran it right off the tube that went to the solenoid as you see in this video. I later ran it directly off the intake manifold as you can see by that photo I posted. I’ve found the direct from the manifold setup to be a bit more consistent with power. I was getting some turbo fluttering coming right off the stock solenoid.
