Backing vocalists still covering him on the end of the high sustained notes......have you ever seen Genesis tour with BVs? There's a big reason why they do this time.
@ThelSuperlKing3 жыл бұрын
@@jtlampsu2 Oh that's happening as well with the keys also lowered significantly. Look I don't mind people saying they went to see Genesis for sentimental reasons and essentially saying goodbye to Phil. I don't even mind people forgiving the very sub-par vocals by Phil because the concert is more valued for emotional reasons than actual professional singing. But no serious musician is gonna honestly say if that wasn't Phil Collins holding the mic or some other global legend that anyone singing like that will get anywhere near a pass from any pro level musician. It doesn't even pass for a karaoke competition. It's the emotional value that's important not the actual singing.
@stevedrums16753 жыл бұрын
@@ThelSuperlKing: They've never done it but it's minimal and it's also cool that they were able to take harmonies and previously unheard studio vocals like 'Afterglow' and 'Carpet Crawlers' and give the singers something to do while enriching the sound with it.

Remarkable intimacy that you'd not expect from an arena show. The band doing it one last time for their fans and those true fans being there for their band. Not really the Genesis way over the years, but definitely Phil's way when you consider all those songs where he laid his heart out. Hopefully he can take strength from doing this and maybe look at doing a bit of acting and mentoring in *semi* retirement. Maybe some small unannounced gigs to if he feels like he could?
