Ce sont les meilleurs... 2021 Genesis and Phil still THE BEST in this world. Thanks for this video.

Backing vocalists still covering him on the end of the high sustained notes......have you ever seen Genesis tour with BVs? There's a big reason why they do this time.

@@jtlampsu2 Oh that's happening as well with the keys also lowered significantly. Look I don't mind people saying they went to see Genesis for sentimental reasons and essentially saying goodbye to Phil. I don't even mind people forgiving the very sub-par vocals by Phil because the concert is more valued for emotional reasons than actual professional singing. But no serious musician is gonna honestly say if that wasn't Phil Collins holding the mic or some other global legend that anyone singing like that will get anywhere near a pass from any pro level musician. It doesn't even pass for a karaoke competition. It's the emotional value that's important not the actual singing.
@stevedrums1675
@stevedrums1675 3 жыл бұрын
@@ThelSuperlKing: They've never done it but it's minimal and it's also cool that they were able to take harmonies and previously unheard studio vocals like 'Afterglow' and 'Carpet Crawlers' and give the singers something to do while enriching the sound with it.

This is probably the best response to any of the live videos I've seen posted about this tour. For some of us, it's not a lack of love and fandom that are keeping us away, its watching our hero struggling to "summon that energy". Wishing them the best of health and safety during this tour.

The greatest front man this band ever had was Peter Gabriel. From the album then there was three the band become a commercially juggernaut. Chart success yes.progressive...no. I liked Collins s as a drummer and he filled Pete's role very well from 76 to 80.But to say he was one of the best frontman of rock is a little extreme. Nik is the only drummer to actually finesse the variations in timing and offsets live when they performed Carpet Crawlers live. His dad didn't even attempt it. One can see the subtle minute hat/snare timing off sets and variations by watching the reflection of the hat actions reflected on the underside of the right tide

Remarkable intimacy that you'd not expect from an arena show. The band doing it one last time for their fans and those true fans being there for their band. Not really the Genesis way over the years, but definitely Phil's way when you consider all those songs where he laid his heart out. Hopefully he can take strength from doing this and maybe look at doing a bit of acting and mentoring in *semi* retirement. Maybe some small unannounced gigs to if he feels like he could?
