When all is said and done, we have the original recordings. We can endlessly debate the pros and cons of this final set of live shows. Ultimately, it was up to the band themselves whether or not to proceed, given Phil's debilitated state. I'm sure they are all well aware that this was perhaps not their finest hour musically or vocally, but it doesn't matter. It was brave and motivated by the very best of intentions. So now, Genesis, take a bow and let the curtain fall one last time. Thanks for so much amazing music.

Best of intentions: £174 a ticket! Sorry. I loved Phil and the band but this is ... well I don't understand what the hell it is except trying to make a last pot of money. Did Phil's wife take him to the cleaners this time?

@@markwelsh9068 Guess you should have gone to their free concert in Rome 2007 with 500,000 of their closest friends. (I was just thinking about the cost of the tickets....it seems extreme, but I bet Genesis makes nothing on these tours. It only covers production expenses and paying the roadies, etc. These guys all have enough money, they just want to have one last go at it) I too will not be attending, except by video.

@@dennybarlau8065 So difficult when the body can not cooperate with your head. When your brain is so alive but the body just can't keep up. We are all going to get old at one point in our life. I'm so damn glad that they all go back together one last time but the true fans has no regrets or do their concerts make a difference if they seem horribly or awesome Genesis will always be up on top when it comes to this man singing right now. He seems better than most younger people right now in a band. And he showed you back then what he had with the drums boom

Unfortunately, some of us MAY not get to grow old, and will wish we could have. Phil has lived an incredible life. He has been able to see his children become adults. He has touched the hearts of many. He has helped to create some of the most beautiful music of all time. And he seems to have done it all with a good, kind heart. Old or not, I am truly glad he is still with us. It will be a sad day, indeed, when he is gone.

This band has been like a soundtrack for many of our lives. My late wife and I saw them (fortunately) about six times over the years. It didn't matter who the singer was, their music stands out and the test of time has shown that so many of us love them. Whatever the future holds, the legacy is great music that people will listen the for years. To do this tour was brave and the respect the band deserve is clearly there.

Seeing Genesis was on my Bucket List and I am now proud to say that I am so lucky to have achieved it. I went to see them in Glasgow and I'm not ashamed to say that I cried many times (still am watching this video) and lost my voice singing along to all the songs I grew up with! I didn't care that Phill faltered on occasions, it was a concert that I will never, ever, ever forget.

These three songs acoustically arranged are a gift from Genesis Reunion. I think the goal is not the perfection of Phil's voice because it's impossible, but a sweet and not expected gift, or some beautiful tunes to remember Forever. The best moment for me is Tony's piano solo on Follow you Follow me. This acoustic set is a great idea! Well Done! SolodeiGenesis!

I saw the concert in Manchester last night, Sat 25 Sep. I purposefully did not go with the intention of making comparisons from the last time I saw the band way, way back, sometime in the last century. That would have been wrong. I went so that I could immerse myself in a couple of hours or so of nostalgia, to hear some of the finest music ever written and performed by some equally fine musicians. Yes, there were some imperfections, yes, I was watching a band who had now grown old and were not what they once were but you know what, I enjoyed every single moment of the show and do not for one moment regret going. Thankyou fellas, for all the joy that you have given over the years, you were, and will always be, The Masters. " The face in the water looks up And she shakes her head as if to say That it's the last time you'll look like today Sail away, away"

@BladeRock1996
@BladeRock1996 3 жыл бұрын

They should release the acoustic section as a souvenir of the Tour. The Lamb is super in its new version. Phil did a fine job with Thats All. Brave man.

I saw Genesis a few times back in the day as they say and I’ll never forget seeing the Duke tour dead center in the first row at the Greek in LA. I’m sorry to see Phil who I also saw live a couple of times having to sit in a chair while he performs and I wish them all the best of luck on this farewell tour, but I must say I’m glad I saw them in their prime and that’s how I wish to remember Genesis.

It was 16 quid 50 pence to see them at Wembley in July 1987 (even though I am more of a 70s Genesis fan). Seems like that was good value in the end! So glad I saved my money this time.

2021 Genesis and Phil still THE BEST. From Paris, Thank you so much for this video.

For all the years of great music, these guys deserve to do whatever they want when it comes to performing. That said, Chester should be behind the kit. No disrespect to Nic, but that era, and all those amazing tours, was Tony, Mike, Phil, Daryl and Chester.

As many other rock bands are or should be doing, its time to let the curtain fall and say goodbye. Thanks for the music and great records you did. Hope the last concert, Peter Gabriel, Steve Hacket and Anthony Phillips will be invited to play. Its brave for Genesis to go on the road to let Phil Collins even in his health state he is, sing one last time and with his son playing drums. "Follow you, Follow Me" version sounds so sad.....

OMG! These tickets are $300-$400 for upper level seats at a local arena here in the States. Floor tickets run up to $2,100. That's before fees! You must really love Genesis to pay these prices. I am a big Floyd fan and had the chance to see a David Gilmour show a few years back in Germany that had fairly similar pricing. I didn't even consider it. I saw these bands in their prime and paid maybe $7.00 to $15:00 at the most. I know about adjusting for inflation and that these are now limited opportunities, but I will just keep my money and memories.

@@iananderson3799 Not the biggest Genesis fan and saw Floyd twice. And Gilmour was playing a lot of his solo stuff. My concert going days, like Phil's are numbered. I went to a lot of shows free in the 80's and 90's, and often went backstage in my younger days because of my job.

Tony Banks had an issue with stuck or sustained notes from the beginning of Lamb, I hear (the issue didn't begin to become apparent until the first chord change, of course). He muted the pad sound at 6.30 and all was fine from that point, albeit the pad had to be absent from the rest of this song.

I was in Manchester on Friday night. I was totally and completely unaware of anything negative. They played for over 2 hours. We all sang along, danced and cheered. Worth every penny of MY money..not yours. People who are critical should remember that they have sold more recordings than you could accurately count.

Thank you. During Phil’s last solo tour, I noticed that nobody who attended was complaining, only people who saw it on KZbin. Quite obviously, there are energies and dimensions which cannot be fully captured by digital recorders. It could never be like the 1980’s, but Charlotte will be _my_ first Genesis show. I will cherish all of the dancing, singing, cheering, and communion. I will be in the presence of interesting men who changed my life for the better, and I will say thank you and farewell. I think that’s worth something…
