I would say, compared to my TT RS, somewhere between 300 - 310 hp. Because it's my daily driver it's running with only 1.5 bar in overboost, for lifetime and drivability reasons.

Exakt 89.000 km zu Beginn des Umbaus. Dürfte mit der MRC map geklopft haben, leider hatte ich damals nie Zündwinkel und AGT kontrolliert. Aber aus Fehlern lernt man ja bekanntlich :)

The car was road tuned, so my programmer did the software with real time data during driving in several conditions on the road. Because of that, it was not necessary to go onto a dyno and so I never measured anything. Compared to the Audi TT RS from my other videos, I can tell, that the Cupra is slightly faster from 100-200 km/h. More information about my programmer: rtd.netai.net/

can you give a rough estimate 300hp? 350? trying to get an idea on my 1.8t frankenturbo build. i have ie rods stock pistons ie cams, ie springs retainers, ferrea valves, 80mm throttle body, cts front mount, 386cc injectors

Wie viel hat denn der gesamte Umbau gekostet ? Habe auch einen cupra r und will demnächst auch den Motor überholen . Und wie viel Spaß kannste mit dem Setup fahren ?

What did you do with the EGR valve pipe between cylinder head and throttle body? I have an 1.8T and I would want cancel the EGR valve. Is necessary to reprogram the ECU? Is some engine component affected for EGR valve cancelation? Thanks

+vwivancc Hi, there is no EGR system on the 1.8T. I think, that you mean the blow by system from the crank housing and the valve cover? Some people install a catch tank, but than you always have to look after it and claean in. I drive my car as a daily driver, 600 km/week, so i left the blow by system stock. Works well since 55.000 km :)

+Genesis225 Hi, I have one 1.8T AWC and it has EGR System, In fact, my ECU reports some fault codes about EGR System like "Potentiometer electrical malfunction". In your video at 4:36 min there is a picture where I can see the hole for Secundary air pump and EGR System. The hole commented is next to hole where the water flange in cylinder head is installed. What do you think?

+vwivancc This is not an EGR system! The 1.8T BAM is an old EU3 dinosaur and defenately has no EGR system! The AWC is not common to me. Btw. the Cupra R (BAM) didn't even had a secondary air pump. The Audi TT and S3 had one, but not the Seats.

gutes Video,schöner Aufbau aber die Musik am Ende beim Startversuch verdirbt... man hört nur noch den mist und nicht den Motor -.- und wieso kam danach kein Video mehr ? Oo hätte gern gesehen was ihr daraus gemacht habt

Ja mei, was man hört is ein rappiger 4-Zylinder :) Ich fahre das Auto im Alltag und habe mittlerweile 100.000 km seit dem Umbau runter gespult. Viel mehr ist seit damals nicht passiert bzw. umgebaut worden... "never change a running system" ;)

Die MRC Software, die ich vor dem Umbau gefahren bin, fuhr bei der Einspritzung mit 100% Taktung auf die originalen Einspritzventile. Somit war das Gemisch je nach Betrieb und Umgebung stellenweise zu mager, weshalb die Abgastemperatur durch die Decke schoss. Eine Abgastemperatur Sonde bzw. eine Lambda Anzeige hätte damals als Frühwarnung geholfen....aber aus Fehlern lernt man :)

Ja, noch mal Glück gehabt :) Serie ist der Motor stressfrei, auch getunt laufen die 1.8T ohne Probleme sofern die Hardware und die Software passen ;)

Genesis225 Ach wie gern ich doch nen Cupra hätte^^ Aber als Azubi wird das erst in 4-5 Jahren was und dann sind ja selbst die jüngsten Cupras schon 13-14 Jahre alt... Naja, dann wird es halt nen Leon III Cupra 280 :P

Hol dir dann lieber einen S3 oder Golf R. Bin den neuen Cupra 280 mit DSG Probe gefahren und war enttäuscht wie schnell die Traktion weg war. Der neue EA888 2.0 TFSI hängt sehr giftig am Gas obwohl es ein Turbomotor ist. Im Prinzip ist das toll und wünschenswert, aber genau diese Bissigkeit überfordert den Vorderradantrieb.

I still don't understand why would you put a cam in a turbo car surley the power is at the higher end of the revs with the turbo why do you need to cam it also?

Lenny Large, longer overlapping in the lower rpm range gives more torque. The backside of the medal is an increase of oxygen and hydrocarbon in the emission and therefore it's hard to pass emission tests. If the exhaust cam's opening is too long, it's possible to get inteferences with gas pulsations between the cylinders in the firing order. This also depends onto the manifold design. I tried different setups and at the end the best compromise for me was to keep the exhaust cam stock and just go with a shortly longer intake cam.

Genesis225 fair enough sounds like you did your homework, the reason I commented is that I have an audi s3 8l with a forged engine and big turbo etc but I left the cam stock, but I changed everything else 😎

No, the whole exhaust system has 3" in diameter!Handmade by Edel01 using a 200 cpi catalyst.

Rob Louis depends on what stage of K04 turbo you use. If you fit a relentless pro 4 manifold and hybrid K04 coupled with rods and injectors you'll easily see 365hp.. standard rods 300hp/300lbs

Well, I created this video during a 2 hour train journey, without a mouse and I had to fight with the Microsoft Movie Maker :P I only had these two songs on my laptop and I failed at trying to reduce the volume of the music at the first engine start! I'm more a car & tool guy...handling with movies, pictures and music is not my world :D
