if you have more than just four different genotypes of offspring for F1, would the recombinants just be the two smallest numbers of offspring?

Why wouldn't the epected ratio be 9:3:3:1 if we are following mendels law of independent assortment? Is it becuase this isn't the typical dihybrid cross (i.e. AaBb x AaBb)?

Actually I just did the cross and found out the expected is going to be 1:1:1:1 because the homozygous recessive individual doesn't change anything; so every thing should be 1 to 1.

If genes are linked, they don't follow the expected Mendel's law of independent assortment.
