TIP: check your model number from the garage door opener in the ceiling. It will help you figure out how many times you need to press the button of your choice when you are programming it. I was confused on this part but the assistant on live chat helped me a lot.

Several issues with this video: This remote would not work with a new (2020) Chamberlain B750 (yellow learn button). Both the remote and the opener were purchased at the same time at Home Depot, so hopefully both are the latest models. Followed the written instructions and this video, all options for setting the remote buttons to my opener type, and every variation on the theme that I could think up, but no luck. It does work with my old purple button LiftMasters, so that indicates that the remote is functional, and the instructions were followed correctly. Despite claims in this video and in the written instructions to the contrary, Genie tech support explicitly stated that they do not support these remotes through chat. Estimated phone support wait time was 2 hours, but they did allow leaving a number for callback. Phone support was only able to walk me through the same steps presented in the instructions and in this video. They offered no additional insights/tips/tricks/hacks to get this to work, and admitted that they always have lots of trouble with the yellow button Chamberlains. Overall, a miserable experience with both product and support.

Apparently wasted $30 on a Genie universal remote. Can NOT. Get it to operate even one of my three Genie Excelerator openers. These units and especially the remotes have been nothing but trouble since they were first installed. Out of a total of 8 remotes, only 1 will reliably operate all of the GDO’s. I’m never buying another Genie product again.

Remote didn’t work for my lift-master I even called customer service who tried to walk me through set up and was told it only work half of the time on non genie products and I needed to return the universal remote

Why do both my Genie Model 2028 and Model 3042 Garage Door Openers both lose the programming in the remotes from time to time? Batteries are fresh too! The only model of remote that does not lose it is your Universal remote, but it is more expensive so I'd rather not buy another one. I'm an electronics engineer and have looked at the circuit boards in four other remotes, they look to be in good shape and not damaged by corrosion or moisture too. In all four original remotes, it happens. What is the permanent fix to keep them from losing the programming from time to time?

As long as the openers you are using are found in the compatibility chart, this should work for your application

This video is hard to follow. You can't do it step by step because they stop mid-instruction with another clip on how to program a different type of opener.

Please ensure your vacation lock is unlocked on the inside of the garage, and ensure that you are not using cfl or led bulbs inside the garage door opener that could interfere with remote frequency.

I just bought one of this to use in my apartment building which have a Linear system. I try to do the cloning with my remote and it hasn't work at all. Does not work with a Chamberlain/lift master 1996-2005 code #3 I purchased 2 of them. They both seem to be working fine. My opener is operating fine. I even cloned the original remote and NOTHING! The opener just refuses to receive the remote's signal. Kind of pissed off about that to be honest.

The instructions should clarify what the "learn button" is on the motor, I mean, why in the world would you call it the "learn" button? Ridiculous! I had to search the internet after reviewing this video, for directions which pointed out what the "learn" button was on the motors of several different brands.
