from a learning standpoint, it was still valuable experience. And it showed you what on the cars needs more attention. Fail fast, fail often, to find the issues and address them.

Good effort, your problem solving steps were exactly what I was thinking as I watched. Without knowing the voltage/edge trigger specs on the Cosworth coil packs, there's no way to know if they match up with the S2000 coil packs or not - it was a valiant hail mary try. It's possible that the Cosworth triggers the plug with a pulse to ground, whereas the S2000 uses a +12V pulse? Depends on the type of transistor used in the design ECM (PNP or NPN). BTW, sometimes you can't see the spark in daylight, just having someone hold it in their hand while the engine cranks will identify if the plug is sparking or not. :)

O-scope on the ECM would verify whether pulse to ground or +12V. Is there a part number on the old coils?

@@CaseyPutsch It was clear to me also, while watching the video, the electrical specifications for the pencil coils are certainly needed for a proper replacement, wiring to function properly with the ECU-ECM, thus deliver the proper voltage for the spark. A seemingly valiant effort, which was hopeful, but lacking from the electrical aspects. Certainly with Your mechanical knowledge You would have realized easily the importance of proper specifications for any mechanical part, component. Certainly the same is required for the electrical. All The Best with consulting with the necessary engineers to determine proper specifications and replacements.

A bummer on the Lotus, but I'm sure you the GG group will get her sorted & running 100% Congrats on the finish with the BMW, looked like a lonely run out there, but 2nd in class is a good result. Looking forward to seeing more, and how GG can MacGyver the Lotus into a champion Keep up the good work Casey, keep your head up & know that you're giving these kids tangible, valuable experiences.

Guy in Cannonball Run - Country singer Mel Tillis, who had a stutter in real life, unless he was singing. Bad news - gorgeous Lotus Exosphere has a flaw that prevents it from living up to its potential. Good news - Genius garage has a problem to solve properly later as a project with the car and you have a legit excuse to race the car again to "evaluate the results".

Sucked that the Honda coils wouldn’t work but super excited to hear it run with the LS coils - and not just cause I love the thought of the same coils you can get off a moms suburban replacing the (I’m assuming) proprietary Cosworth coil assembly. What challenge do you have to tackle on the Lotus next?

I’d still like to see the next episode with the McGyver coild pack starting and working. There’s gotta be a simple wiring issue that kept those packs from producing spark. McGyver tip: Next grab a stick of gum and start chewing gum as you use the foil wrapping as a ground strap for each coil .

Another Fool that lacks basic, proper knowledge abut electricity, especially high voltage for spark plugs; 40-50KV At least Casey realized from some of his basic electrical knowledge about the silicone grease issue preventing electrical energy flow.

Hmmm 3 wire coil packs for Honda S2000. Might have to pick one up and compare to my 2007 DB9 coil packs. They are expensive and difficult to obtain - when you have a V12 it pays to shop around. I wonder if the Honda coil packs are made by Beru?

Well since you through in the towel on the exosphere, "just kidding kind of" here's an idea to start another channel there's a guy whose channel is "iScream Vlogs" he does reaction videos to this guy called Mr. organic if you've ever heard of them the guy is funny as can be he claims to be everything to everyone and he's the greatest and he has wisdom to expound on everyone and then they all become rich and famous, you could do the same thing with same type of channel reaction reacting to whistling diesel you could critique his videos and basically point out all the lies and fraud like he didn't mean to set the Ferrari on fire or the camera van on fire what slow brained viewers who buy into it all, just something I thought would be interesting I know I would watch every episode and someone needs to expose the fraudsters on KZbin maybe that doesn't interest you whatever just a suggestion,,, 😐😐😐
