Thanks for the video. I'd really like to see the solenoid build. I've had my eye on this machine for a long time, specifically for the size and router upgrade capability. I haven't read much about the quality though, so I'm glad to hear that you find it to be very good. I may not be ready to buy one for a while, but unless something really good comes along in the meantime, this will be the one I get.

I'll look at putting together the router switch. If I don't do a video I'll make the plans available somehow.

I would also like to see how you built the solenoid AC outlet of the router.

It's on my list, but basically, all that's in the box is a male equipment connector on one side and a female connector on the other, and in between, there is a solid-state relay

@@SteveMakesEverything Is it possible to share the link to the video? I haven't been able to find it. Also, a list of the parts and where to purchase them would be very helpful. Thanks!

I can't share a link because I didn't create a video for this. 😗 But there are only 3 parts in the box: - A male power plug to connect AC line power to the box using a standard equipment power cable (like the one that you already have for the machine) - A female AC power connector to allow you to connect your Router - a Solid state relay to switch on the AC power: (amzn.to/4fQfKQy ) - You also need a couple of connectors to plug your existing spindle cable to the input side of the relay to control switching on the power to the router. Connect the neutral side of the power from the AC input connector directly to the AC output connector. Connect the input connector line side to pin 1 on the relay and from pin 2 connect to your output line pin.

Can you make a video on controlling an upgraded spindle with the same controls as the stock spindle if possible.?

I can show you what I did to turn the trim router on and off, but you can’t really control the router speed easily.

Interested in the electronics and build to control the router. Also I've heard there are some flex issues with the extension kit, particularly with hard woods. What has your experience been?
@SteveMakesEverything
@SteveMakesEverything 3 ай бұрын
I personally haven't seen any flex issues with any project. Of course I upgraded this to use a trim router which poses a bit more opposition to hardwood.

There is an 4f x4ft extention for this machine. I would love to see how that works out

As a matter of fact there is.

Hi thanks for the video. I have space for a 40x60 but not 60x60. Could I simply replace the Y axis C beams and leave the gantry at the 40mm? Also has anyone replaced the rollers with linear rails, perhaps top and bottom?
@SteveMakesEverything

You would want to confirm with Sainsmart, but I believe this would work since the range is determined by limit switches in both directions

do you know what size is the z axis ball screw diameter and length? My machine seems to have a problem and I need to replace the ballscrew and bearing.
@SteveMakesEverything
@SteveMakesEverything 9 ай бұрын
Do you have a a calliper to measure it? I’m not near my shop today but I believe they are larger than 8mm. I’m thinking 12mm but not sure. The bearings are 8mm, though the ball screws are milled on the ends. You could just ask Sainsmart to supply the exact ones since you’re buying a new one anyway

Hi, do you think it would be possible to keep the X axis at 400mm but extend the Y axis? I am planning to make guitars so I don't need a wide machine. I'd like 40 x 113... but I don't want to be wasteful and buy machine parts that I'll never use!
@SteveMakesEverything
@SteveMakesEverything 8 күн бұрын
Probably a better question for Sainsmart, but I believe it would be possible if you got the extension kit and just didn’t upgrade the X axis. In software, you can define different X and Y dimensions so not problem on that side.

@@SteveMakesEverything Thanks for replying Steve. I really have a problem with these pricing models of theirs. It seems incredibly wasteful to buy a machine, knowing you aren't going to use a majority of the parts. They do have a "Flexi" option now where you can buy the 113x113 kit without buying the original machine... you essentially are buying each component separately, which is nice, and much cheaper! If I do that though, then I don't have to 40cm X axis components. So, I am trying to find someone in the UK that has bought the original machine and no longer needs the 40cm X axis! Plus, I might be left with over half of a hybrid table, so I'm trying to work that one out too!

@@Shaney-_-M I think if you talk to them, you can probably negotiate for just the two rails you need. You can't be the only person who has asked for this.

@@SteveMakesEverything Thanks. I did already reach out to them and they said they don't yet do custom configurations like what I'm asking for. So I would have to buy the 4030 V2 machine, the 1313 kit and hybrid table. Then I would have a spindle I don't want, a 4030 Y axis I don't want, a 1313 X axis and gantry I don't want, as well around three quarters of a 1313 hybrid table that I don't want! I'll see if they will respond again tomorrow, but it's looking like the best thing to do is to try to find someone that doesn't want their 4030 parts because they have upgraded to a 6060 maybe. I've had no luck on the forums yet though.

@@Shaney-_-M I wish everyone would adopt Onefinity's expansion model. You can buy individual rails or a different z-axis, and no one tries to manhandle you into buying something you don't want.

Could you tell us the exact dimensions of the 6060 with dragchains and stepper motors included? I can't find required space for this 6060 anywhere
@SteveMakesEverything
@SteveMakesEverything 9 ай бұрын
My 6060 is currently on loan so I can’t measure it but if you add 70mms to the dimensions you will be safe. The stepper motor hang out the back and left side and they are the de icing factor.

Wait why would you do this for the 4030 V2 when you can buy the 6050? Wouldn't this upgrade double the price of the 4030 V2 making it double the cost of the 6050???
@SteveMakesEverything
@SteveMakesEverything 6 ай бұрын
On paper yes, but keep in mind that the 4030 ProVer XL is more of a professional CNC to start with. It uses components that are upgraded (e,g, ball screws, and indexed stepper motor, etc.).
