Carol looked good in terms of playing the game right, but her shooting needs to get a bit more accurate. I didn't see any flinches from the prospect of contact. That kid from Minnesota looked pretty good. She really passes well.

Watching Amari continues to sadden me. At 6'5" she had decent minutes and failed to get a rebound. She blatantly missed 4 rebounds right before her and missed. She never plays pick and roll, never sets on the block, and consistently makes questionable passes. Geno passed on Cardoso for her and Amari has yet to contribute anything of real value for two years. As baseball great Joe Morgan once said, I like players, not prospects.

@@wessey1000Where did I say I know more about BB than Geno? When Cardoso left Syracuse the first person she called was Geno. A month later, after talking back and forth she started shopping herself to other colleges. Yes, Amari's parents threatened to have her transfer to another college, and because of his allegiance to Amari and her potential Geno declined to accept Cardoso.

Geno once explained, "There's basketball players and players who play basketball". KK Arnold and Ashlan Shade are basketball players. Wonderful to watch a real UCONN basketball game...a chance to take our minds off of Israel bombing the innocent people who just happen the bad luck of living in Gaza.

Amari is a LOST cause since her freshman year. Now a Junior if she doesn't understand how to play 'Uconn' basketball by now, she never will. That's too bad. Usually Geno will bring out the best in his players but NOT Amari..If the freshman continue through the season improving their game and playing UCONN basketball by April Uconn will when it all. Go Uconn!!

I still don't see her as a lost cause. Much of her poor play is from the neck up, and sometimes something just clicks for a player. Tina Charles was like that for UConn, and I still have hopes that Amari's BB IQ, footwork, and temperament will improve. If she'd just learn to use her body and that wide backyard to her advantage she'd be a big help. She'll never learn to read the ball off the rim like say Napheesa Collier, but there's hope she can become a better rebounder.
