I was at game one, 1976, first regular season game in the Kingdome. I was 6 years old. I have been a Hawks fan ever since. And I remember it all. The Seahawks have had great moments and great seasons, but we must remember how special Russ was those first few seasons. I will never forget him, nor the seasons he led us to victory! But as others have said more eloquently, Geno Smith is our guy now. And damn, if that man ain't call back? Good on him for being humble, for putting in the work, from learning from some of the best. Not only that, but with Geno being as good as he is, he has weapons and a defense at his disposal that Schneider and Carrol couldn't get while paying Russ. This is a good team.

When I think of what Geno's doing this year, Tommy Maddox from Pittsburgh comes to mind. Just that redemptive, give me another shot I'm better then I was that first time I've studied waited and here comes my chance to show all the skill and talent in the world that allowed me to be a high draft pick. Tommy turned that Pittsburg team into an aerial show that year. Very reminiscent.

Gino is thriving in Shane Waldron‘s offense three tight end sets… you can do a number of things at the line of scrimmage…they can pass block or run block… or disguise and hit the open field for a pass…

GS has only been with the team since 2020. In that year the Seahawks went 12-4 and won their division, it wasn't necessary for GS to replace RW. Last year was his first year he had to step in. He might have won the team one or two more games, and maybe the Seahawks might have gone to the playoffs. But they sure would not have won the SB. No need to speculate.

Geno wasn't terrible in his 20s. His rookie year he led a talentless Jets team with a defensive head coach to an 8 and 8 record. He was statistically one of the best college QBs ever breaking multiple records. So your comment just proves you never watched him play.

I knew that Wilson was the biggest detriment to this team, and that Geno could run the offense more efficiently, and stated so publicly before he was even traded. Those 3 and outs were killing the defense, leaving them hung out to dry. It was also obvious that the 2 high safety shell primary cover 2 look defenses started playing (specifically starting in week 9 2020 vs Buffalo) was the death knell of his career. Set the edge, limit the deep ball and he's complete garbage at this point in his career with his waning mobility and not being able to see over the line.
