The Brits had the legal power to do whatever they wanted with that land. They almost immediately gave over 75% fit to the Arabs who lived there; that land became what's now known as Jordan. The remainder of the land west of the Jordan River was always supposed to be solely for the Jewish state, as per the Balfour Declaration and the San Remo agreements.

No real reason to be sorry. The first support for Israel, back in 1948, and even before, was from Czechoslovakia. "In the first days of the existence of the new state, Czechoslovakia provided material aid to Israel, despite the UN embargo on the import of weapons to the Middle East. The first shipment of weapons went there already in January 1948. By November 1948, 80 aircraft had arrived in Israel. Czechoslovakia provided training on its territory to about 200 Israeli specialists, pilots and paratroopers." Having studied this issue of antisemitism for a number of decades, informally of course, I developed the theory that antisemitism was not just an outgrowth of the historic persecution of Jews, the treating them as second class citizens, the conquering and taxing for being Jews, etc. The forced relocations, the settling in other Countries for survival, and the persistence of their religion and culture while trying to exist peacefully all over the World made them outsiders in most cultures, no matter how useful they were. Even different branches of other religions warred with each other in most religions. With Jews, the identity of the people persisted because a strong culture and adherence to tradition made it seem that they could not assimilate. As if one should have to assimilate to exist! Anyway, the fact that they were not able to consistently have a safe place to live in their own historical land as empires swept across the Middle East made them vulnerable in other lands. When you don't have a State, people do what they want with you when they get the notion. So the anti-semitism became a part of the landscape in many parts of the World because Jews had an identity without a recognized home of their own. In other words, anti-semitism was easy, just as racism is easy. This explains why Islamic extremists want to eliminate the Jewish State, even to the point of saying that anti-zionism is not anti-semitism. This approach attempts to claim some questionable high ground while attempting to deny the Jews their homeland. We love you, but you can't have your land!! This is sophistry. The attempts to rewrite history and deny the Jewish rights to their land will not stand. The creation of Israel in 1948 was the recognition of the right of the Jews to the land. Even if that had not taken place, Israel would still be their land, including all of the so-called occupied territories. That is undeniable. No amount of miseducation and denial of reality will change that.

They are, so much so, that after the expulsion of jews from every country they have major regrets and want them back. After the Spanish inquisition they begged for a community of jews to return. My country of Finland was closely tied to the Germans in WWII due to extreme unfortunate circumstance. However, at every turn, attempts were made to not declare any alliance to the cause, but to do the opposite. With the middle east, things were a very different. They were seeking each other out.

And what happened to your country during that time and its results, it gives me some sort of antagonistic feeling towards the allied nations too. Although i am on the side of the allied nations, those things that happened to finland and its people really breaks my heart to pieces. As a christian myself, its very frustrating how our allied nations treated finland badly in those events. Imagine a country being invaded without any valid reasons and then, they made your finland pay huge amount of war reparations,😢. When i read the history about this, i literally cried for so long. As a fellow christian of the people of finland, it really breaks my heart.

What warms my heart in the coldness of the whole situation is the amount of support and volunteers Finland got from all around the world. Even though the allies could not fight the Soviets and the Germans at the same time, the people from all around the world were feeling as you felt. It is sad, but out of the ashes rose many heroic tales for all of us to remember in our toughest moments. Never surrender to belligerence and always fight with courage and wit, together with all your countrymen.
