Look at Lu running through the woods. That’s pure joy. Those who don’t believe animals feel things have never watched animals running or swimming or playing for the fun of it.

Sometimes animals feel much deeper than we do. This is explicit reason I am vegan. Animals feel love, hope, doubt, fear, jealousy, pride, anger, curiosity, wonder, joy, and everything we do. It's not wise of us to assume animals do not have the same breath of life we do, as we are all connected. God gave us animals as a gift. It's dishonorable that we mistreat them. They are beautiful beings just as we are and we should respect and love them.

I once watched my dog run through fluffy snow for the fun of it. She had cancer and was tired and stopped playing as much and she stopped her daily zoomies. We had a big giant storm and the snow was super light but there was about two feet of it. She was so excited about the snow she ran through it like a train and made it go flying everywhere and she kept doing that with a huge smile on her face like this is so fun. It was like I got my old dog back for a minute and it made me cry. She passed away last year and it was tough she was the best dog I have ever had.

I call the water-filled tray in my back yard "The Happiest Place On Earth" -- because that's what the robins, chickadees, and sparrows seem to think it is. (P.S. Papa Robin had one of the youngsters down in the grass in the area where I was picking up plant litter and pulling out overgrowth this morning before I left for work. The parents regularly approach within a meter/yard of me while I'm doing yard work -- fearless! The little one can't quite fly yet, but it was hopping along after Daddy as Daddy hunted for yummies. One time when I looked over to check on them, Robin Jr. was standing on top of the football I found hidden in a clover patch a few days ago.)

We had a rescued buck in the 1980's , living in my area . His name was Wawa ( that's where his milk was purchased) . The old man who raised him put orange bows on his antlers and orange body paint on his flanks . That deer lived for 20 years , or so . He lived in the wild but never far from where he was found and cared for. In the winter the neighbors would purchase bales of hay / clover or whatever deer eat . Anyway , when Wawa was about 15/16 years old : he started to just hang out with his humans , again. He had a little shed , food , water and cats , to hang with. The old man ( Mr.Toto ) thought he came home , " to die " . Yet , he lived 4 or 5 more years . The entire neighborhood loved that deer . He was buried in a back pasture on Mr.Toto's property . Beautiful creatures , indeed . 💕

These sisters are amazing, not only they rescued Ludovica, they also raised her as a wild animal, meeting her needs and making the best choices (never walk near the street, orange collar visible to humans but not to deers, etc..). The dedication and attention towards Ludovica's wellbeing are fantastic. Leo is the best friend ever, I love how his personality switches from proud and noble while standing still and looking at the horizon, but than he feels playful and smiling. These ladies definitely know how to properly raise and educate animals. Lovely story. I wish this happy family all the best.

It's always so sweet to see a hunting dog treating a creature it would typically be trained to hunt/chase as it's baby. It reminds me of my Springer Spaniel who passed away back in 2006, she was terrified of thunder/fireworks so she wasn't a good hunting dog, but she would watch over me and my sister when we were young while my parents weren't looking, and would treat every small creature we brought home as if they were her pups, despite her never actually having any pups of her own (My parents spayed her when she was a pup). I miss her a lot.

Precious buddies. I would love to live where this video was taken, it's absolutely gorgeous and both the doggy and the deer are beautiful as well. I could watch a day's long video of this adopted deer and the doggy and his family. What a day in the life is like or was like when the deer was still living on they're land, I find these 2 very interesting. I absolutely wish I could have more animals and have a non profit sanctuary for Homeless, abused and unwanted animals. I have such a big heart for all sorts of animals. We rescued a Chihuahua named mini girl back in 2015 who was around 2 to 3 years old and was extremely thin she was nothing but skin and bones and weighed just 3 pounds she is now 11 pounds. She needs to be hand fed or she will not eat, not even a Tbone steak. My husband made my son a steak and mini girl took the steak and licked it and took it off the plate but did not take a bite of it. She has snuck the wet cat food from her rescued brother but will not eat her own wet dog food out of a bowl or small plate. She used to take a kurnel of dog food walk away and eat it one at a time but will not do that anymore either. So she is fed regular human food and by hand. I've spent both my stimulus checks on her at the veterinary hospital #1 for getting her teeth cleaned and x-rays and 15 teeth needed to come out and that costed us $1,200 and then the 2nd was to be spayed and I also found 3 little lumps that were tumors around 1 of her nipples and she had 1 of her boobs removed and sent to pathology which costed $600 just for that to be told she didn't have cancer thank goodness and that surgery and pain meds for afterwards was $1,100. Thank goodness for the help I got with the stimulus relief checks. If I got any more I'd use them again on both my newly adopted male cats I rescued from my nextdoor neighbor who was a drug addict and never fed her outdoors cats and never spent time with them. If they did get fed it was when she was starting her day on methamphetamine's (crank, speed) and she would feed them around 11:30 12 midnight. I live in a duplexsoicould hear everything through our walls so as we are sleeping or laying down watching TV just waiting to fall asleep she is having other drug addicts knocking on her window tweaking outside our bedroom windows. I was so pissed atheritold her how awful she treated the animals inside her small 1 bedroom home that she never let the cats 16 cats at 1 time never let them get fresh air or touch the grass outside. She neglected the 2 cats outside I bought them a 30 pound bag of cat food and started feeding them and giving them fresh water and she would throw a handful of cat food on the actual porch step and the dry food would mix with dirt and debree from the wind and it's not right didn't even put the food in a bowl of on a plate just didn't care for them. So I told her I was taking them from her. She didn't say no your not or say anything at all. So I brought them both inside and 1 is Blackie for being black but she named him the N word and would call him by that name just disgusting and a disgraceful person she was. And the other at is dark grey and his name is Hansolo. They have been outside for at least 3 years maybe even longer. Hansolo hasn't sprayed inside the house but blackie came in and sprayed in the kitty box, thank goodness it was a easy clean up. Blackiehas a soft bed in a tote that I cut a hole for him to get inside his safe place to sleep especially when it's raining and windy. I also puthisdry foodbowl inside the back corner of inside of his house to keep debree from the wind out of hisfood and I change his water many times a day if there is stuff from The trees from the wind. Blackie stays outside pretty much all the time but does come in to chill and cuddle for awhile almost every day. He takes off across the street Togo fight and be with the girls and some nights doesn't come home which makes me worry. And hansolo I'm loves to be inside and goes outside everyday if he wants to go out I let him Choose. Him and minigirl love to play together they both sleep with me inside my blankets at bedtime every night. I wish I had a bigger home and a large back yard that was fenced in all the way around. Ours is a big back yard but there are 4 families in both duplex units that use the back yard. So 1 of the sides of fence is not up. Oh the neighbor wouldn't stop using dope especially while doing dialysis and she also had COPD from smoking weed and smoking methamphetamine's she ever smoked cigarettes either. Well she left her home in a ambulance and take to the emergency room at Kaiser hospital which she should've went to our county hospital where they could've done better care. She is on medical and she was sent to a rehab 4 days later and then 2 a different place that excepted her insurance believe it was a convalescent/ rehab and on February 14th Valentine's day she was found face first in her lunch tray. That is so horrible to die like that. She was horrible to the cats but didn't deserve to die I that fashion, all alone. Her ex boyfriend had just left her side he visited her every day she was in the hospital. I'm glad I had already taken the boys. And Paul had to take all the cats inside the house and bring them to his 3 bedroom house.. i seen the other cats already at Paul's they looked healthy and happy. I felt so mad at janet for not taking care of her drug problem because she could've lived a lot longer she was just 58 or turned 59 last September. I think my cats miss her too sometimes they go and sit on the front porch of her old duplex, maybe having old memories of her......

Omg this comment was a wild ride! I'm glad you took the cats in❤️ me and my parents had a similar situation, our neighbors were a family but the mom never really wanted animals and her kids would bring them in the house anyway. Any cats they found or dogs they got... And the youngest daughter when she was young would mistreat the animals, I remember her throwing on of them across the lawn to see if it landed on its feet. The other kids had their own animals but left the house often and the mom didn't really care about them, she would let them out and they would get out of the backyard because they had a shitty fence. One dog in particular was a chihuahua as well! And she would brank at us when we're were on the sidewalk or getting the mail, she would be left out for hours and hours even in the cold and we would see her trying to go through trash and eating grass and bugs. One day in the winter my mom felt bad and wrapped her up in a blanket and took her inside and just held her the entire time and she was so peaceful and happy. Once she realized we actually fed her and gave her a safe place to stay warm, she would come up to our gate without us having to go look for her! So my mom would take her in all day then directly hand her back to the mom all for it to happen again the next day! One day the mom was like you can just have her, and so we did. Then one day like a while later that Bratty rude younger kid put some super sticky sticky note on our door complaining how we stole her dog... I never cared that she felt that way, if anything it made me mad, she treated animals like shit, she deserved to have it taken away, and now she lives happily as an old lady with us She still eats bugs if she finds them but she doesn't have to!!!!! Lol

This mirrors our story almost completely! Over 20 years ago we also got an abandoned baby fawn (a male though) whom we bottle raised into adulthood and just like here he became more and more independent, visiting less frequently the longer he was on his own in the woods. And also just like here, we attached an orange collar so that the hunters would recognize him. Unfortunately at only 20 months old he contracted some sort of bacterial lung infection and passed away (he hadn't visited in over 2 weeks which was unusual, so we went looking for him and found him already dead in one of his favourite spots in the forest). That was a sad day...

Really really appreciate that they respect the fact that the deer is NOT domesticated and is still a wild animal, and needs to be treated as such in order to facilitate a healthy lifestyle for the animal. A lot of humans will see a wild animal, think it's cute, and decide it should be a pet. These people went out of their way to help make sure the deer would be ready for the wild. Major kudos.
