I can say that I'm one of the luckiest Hooman's in the world because of the love and joy my baby girl brings. She to was abused, abandoned and afraid until she seen me. She came to me I instead of cowering in her kennel. I don't know why she chose me that day but a thank God every day that she did. 🙂❤

We hear all kind of news about some pitbull attacked to an adult or a kid, sometimes heavily injured and sometimes killed, and we hear these every month in TV news. Since most of pitpulls are bought for illegal dogfights, attack or self defence or property defence purposes, so they raised and teached to be aggressive. Pitbull Terrier, Dogo Argentino, Fila Brasilerio, Japanese Tosa, American Staffordshire Terrier and American Bully are marked as "dangerous races" by laws in here (Turkey). If you are a owner, you have to register your dog, fix it and take ownership. While you can see big and small, every kind of dogs here in the streets and most communities likes to feed them, gives them beds and blankets in winters, you can't see any of those dangerous races in the streets. So people have right to afraid of those after hearing so many news about pitbull attacks. But you don't hear a golden retriever attacked some kid in the streets.

I have a neighbor that changed her walking route because other neighbors got pits ... don't get me wrong she loves dogs. But because of the bad press she's scared of them which is a shame. She's missing out on the happy tail whips and affection I get when I'm out walking.My neighbors pits are just loveable goofballs who like a good belly scratch like any other breed.

Pitties are the sweetest, goofiest derps on the planet when raised by people who care for them. I have never met one I could resist petting. I always ask because you never know what situation the animal is in, if they’re being rehabbed or fearful of a new place, but I do that with every single animal I meet, because I have my manners too. I had to explain to my golden mix that not everyone liked her as much as she did them too and the hurt is soul crushing to owners. Maple is a sweet girl and should only ever see smiles.

When the English Staff(England )and Irish dogs (Old Family from Ireland) were Imported to America. Those dogs were bred together to create the Pit Bull and Chauncey Bennett (United Kennel Club ) register them as the American Pit Bull Terrier in 1898

With every generation, various breeds have been targeted. Decades ago, it was Rottweilers and Dobermans. But Pitties have been the most misunderstood and feared of all breeds. They are the most euthanized breed. It seems people are slowly coming around with the help of The Dodo and other animal rights organizations. DoDo mislabel dogs. They’re just as bad as the media. The bad reputation came from the Media mislabeling dogs in the late 80s . When dog attacks was on arises. The Old Timers wasn’t selling the APBT (the real pit bull) to the General Public back then. The media thought the Pit Bull were these big , broad chest and blockhead dogs . I miss mine too. Her name was Lily and she was pure love and silliness. She was a white red nosed pit with some reddish brown freckles. I loved/love her so much. Lily had a much better personality than my lab/hound mix. An inoperable tumor pressing against her lungs took her from us.
