It's not about us....when I find them a great home where I know they will be loved and well taken care of I know that I can now foster another animal who needs my help. It's actually very rewarding. Moony most likely ran off and got lost.. or his owners moved to a place that disallows large breeds. Pyres are sweet, loyal dogs, but their desire to roam cannot be overstated. They were bred by monks in the Pyrenees mountains (which border France and Italy) to work alone for weeks at a time, roaming the vast mountain range, faithfully guarding their flocks of sheep. The white coat helps them blend with the flock, the size helps them face off with wolves, the strong independent streak helps them survive, but it makes them among the most difficult to train. Not for lack of intelligence though! They are escape artists, and will break your heart with their determination to roam, they are notorious for taking off at the first opportunity. There's a lot to worry about between traffic, other dogs, and people who are afraid of large dogs. They make up for it with amazing personalities, but that makes the prospect of loss even more painful. My experience with one was definitely unforgettable.

We got a great Pyrenees puppy off the side of the road a long time ago on a Christmas. Her tail was completely bald, she was underweight, and she was riddled with worms. Needless to say many years later she's all better and she's absolutely huge. She's got a mild problem with strangers but she's so gentle that she just barks and then hides under the table when a new person is around. Other than that, she sleeps in the kitchen waiting for someone to drop something.

As a fellow Pyrenees owner, this broke my heart. 🥺 I could never imagine my Mika going through something like this. Pyrs are the sweetest gentle giants 🤧

We've had Daisy since August. She looked a lot like this dog and weighed exactly the same. She had been overbred by a backyard breeder and had had a recent litter. The shelter wasn't sure she'd live. You would not believe the beautiful, sweet, funny dog she is now. She is absolutely stunning.

I don't believe how people can allow a dog to get like this in the first place and God bless all who were involved to bring the store back to look absolutely beautiful and give it a forever home that he deserves especially for what he had gone through God bless everybody

Me and my family had a Great Pyrenees when I was growing up. Isabel was the sweetest, most loyal and protective dog. Miss her so much. RIP Izzy.

He seems very sweet, I hate people that mistreat animals.. animals have alot of respect for theirs and humans.
