Im having difficulty in understanding difference between GEOID and DATUM, does DATUM (e.g. WGS84) include the Geoid?

Geoid - the irregular shaped object Datum - a specific alignment/fit of the mathematically defined ellipsoid shape to the geoid for a particular region or globally
