How many Octaves does Geoff have? Yes. He has 'yes' octaves.

Geoff and his wife Kathy often work together on the set and costuming. Often it's Geoff giving Kathy a general idea/image of what he has in mind, and while Geoff continues his work on arranging/recording, Kathy starts gathering a portfolio of options for him. Then Geoff picks out what he likes and finds what is missing, and then they work together building/decorating the set. sometimes it's all Geoff, but often they work as a team on this :)

The set was done by Pattycake Productions, a studio jointly owned by Layne Stein (VP beatboxer) and Tony Wakim (former VP baritone). They had just gotten new boulders in so Geoff was able to use them. When he did Wicked Game, it was just him and Kathy. He did his old makeup, he says it's getting harder go not look old. He's 43, a youngster to compared to me, but he's been calling himself old and boring ever since he turned 40. He is wonderful, thanx for this reaction!! One of my favorites of his is the old American folk song, Shenandoah. He doesn't use his very highest or lowest notes in it, but it is calm, soothing, and beautiful.

The first tenor solo was a mixed voice. It was mostly chest-dominant, with some flips into headvoice. Geoff's chest voice extends to B4 and he is still chest-connected up to D5.

@@RetiringvirusReacts, chest voice of F1-B4, with his full range being A0-A#5. And, with full access to it at-will. I have been a bass singer for over 30 years and have never encountered anyone like Geoff. I have seen plenty of people with larger ranges (including myself), but none who can do it like Geoff.

Geoff never disappoints. At least he's never disappointed me yet. :) Kathy, his wife, does a lot but backgrounds and lighting are usually down to Eli of VoicePlay and the other members often help out with setting up the staging. I believe that ex-VoicePlay member Tony Wakim works on costumes too, for VoicePlay anyway. I don't know if he helps out with Geoff's solo videos. There's a lot of cross over between Geoff and the group. Geoff has five octaves when you add in his subharmonics. He has been down to A0 and up to A#5, but those are exceptional really, not part of his usual repetoire. Geoff has a make-up artist and what he calls "beard-wrangler" for this type of video. He always mentions everyone in the credits below the title. He has hundreds of patrons now I think, the ones on screen are in a higher bracket than me, and those mentioned are in the top tier.

That low note on "keep" was a subharmonic. He did one in the first verse of Misty Mountains, but in what you've listened to, those are the only subs he's done.
@johndeeregreen45926 ай бұрын
It sounds more like a very controlled chest-fry... it still had the resonance of chest voice, but with a touch of fry around the edges. It's like that first F#1 he did in "Valhalla Calling" it just didn't sound like a subharmonic like the second F#1 did. Geoff has definitely improved his access to low notes and resonance with them. It's like, how can someone so good become better, but Geoff keeps doing just that.

This is my favourite one (featuring the 4 'Geoffs') - until the next one! He just keeps getting better and better! For this one, there was just Geoff, Kathy (his lovely wife and Production Manager for him and VP) and Rick Underwood ('beard wrangler' - he does all the more advanced makeup/prosthetics for Geoff and VP), Eli programmed the lighting previously but couldn't be there on the day of the shoot. Kathy had kept all of the costumes from the earlier 'Hobbit' cover (Far Over Misty Mountains Cold), with a few additions - and Rick had kept all of the beards and hairpieces from that one too! I think this one captured the mood better than the original (which is still a great song by Ed Sheeran, the lyrics are awesome!). You definitely need to do some of the Voiceplay covers as well, they have done several game-related ones, such as Dragonborn Comes from Skyrim, the Halo theme and their most recent, Sleeping In The Cold Below from Warframe - us Voiceplayers will be here for all of it!

So he started singing in middle school and in high school he was practicing tenor range then later in high school or collage years he wanted to do bass so he’s been widening his range for years with a lot of practice and a lot of back and forth of tenor and bass just makes this perfection
