Nobody tugs at your heart strings like Geoff does. He has a way of reaching deep down into your soul. He sang it as it should have been sung. He portrayed the lyrics beautifully. He actually brought tears to my eyes with this one. Geoff is a musical genius who really knows his music theory.

I read in comments somewhere that Geoff and Kathy searched far and wide before they found this piano. It really is a treasure. This is one of those songs that takes me out of body if I close my eyes and just listen. Great reaction!!

To me, it feels as if the original version was a warning to not let this happen. The Disturbed version saw it was happening and was belligerently angry about it. And Geoff is lamenting that it has happened and pleads for all to learn from it. Let's also take a moment to appreciate Eli's lighting design, with light fading in and out at just the right moments with just the right color notes. (BTW, if you are a Patreon member for Geoff, at certain levels you can hear the instrumental track for this cover as one of the monthly perks)

Such a breathtaking cover of this song. Fun Fact about the piano he is playing in this: He and Kathy (his wife) had to go on a crazy piano hunt to find a piano for his cover on Till Then. According to Geoff, there was a lot of running around trying to track one down that fit what he was looking for in a short amount of time. But he really loves how this one sounded and his Father-in-law was overjoyed to play it over the holidays. Geoff has said he prefers the sound of the upright pianos to like a baby grand. He likes baby grands okay, just likes the tone of the uprights better.

Me too. I’ve watched this vid a hundred times, I haven’t actually seen the damn thing yet. My eyes snap shut as soon as the chorus comes in. It’s so powerful it takes all of my processing ability to handle the audio & have nothing left to be able to process any visuals. And it absolutely leaves my eyes soggier than they started.

@@marshayoung9387 Have you heard his “Till Then”? I made a Spotify playlist that is just that song like 50 times - enough to get about an hour and a half of playtime - and I play it softly when I’m trying to fall asleep. Quiet enough that I really can’t make out the words so well … just hear notes and tone. It works 😊

I've listened to this version a few times now, and the arrangement is growing on me more and more. The discordant part is a very interesting choice, and helps make this [piece unique.

Such a somber and self reflective sounding version. It's just perfect. The original was a warning, disturbed's was the anger for not heeding that warning, this is the sadness afterwards. That's how I see it 🤗

He and his wife Kathy went on a hunt for this piano with a certain sound for his cover of "Till Then". Then he took it home. Glad to see it again in this video. Love the sound of radio static, the neon light, and that piano. Gives me chills.

I've never seen any of your reviews. I loved this one. I love particularly that you love what Geoff C has done without feeling like you have to slag off anything. You just love it and you say so. That's really great and I loved watching you do it. Thank you! Also, Geoff's version of the song is a close second favourite of mine to the one done by Disturbed. His voice is a comfort in the darkest times. Thank you so much for this! I'm subscribing.

Very reflective and so well done. Much the feeling I got from Simon and Garfunkel when I'd listen to them sing this in a darkened room. I really love Geoff's take on this.

I agree, this one has a different feeling from the versions I’ve heard of Sound of Silence before, broken is a good description. I feel like every musical element in Geoff’s version makes me hear and interpret the lyrics differently than ever before and actually feel them stronger. I love it!

This just fits in with the vocal candy stuff like Pentatonix. It's interesting to listen to but the emotion that strikes the listeners heart isn't there. Now the Disturbed version touches the heart and mind, both live and video. the video version helps you visualize the story.
