Guitar pro 7 Tutorials Beginner Guide to Creating Your First File.
Continuing the series on the beginners guide to using Guitar Pro 7 I walk you through the process of creating a very simple file.
I was asked by a student to produce him a tab of a vert simple 12 bar blues progression we was looking at in a lesson so i though i would record the process so you can see how easy it is to create a file.
Most of the work was actually done by using copy paste a feature that many people forget about when using GP. Always treat GP like a word processor for tabs. So at times its easier to just copy paste section rather than individually entering each note. Even if you might want to make slight alteration inside of a bar.

I've had a copy of GP7 for a year and fooled with it now and again but didn't get the hang of it...until now. This is a great tutorial. Thanks!

Hi Geoff, great tutorial, like you say there's a lot of KZbin's on this topic that are far too advanced for the beginner...cheers Stewart

Thanks. Very helpful to get me started with the basics. I have had Guitar Pro used only for playback for the longest time just because I didn't want to go through the learning curve but I see its actually quite easy thanks to your intro here.

Thank you for this video and your other great Guitar Pro 7 tutorials. I am new to GP7 and these videos really help. I was using Sibelius and as far as ease of use GP7 is so much easier to use. One thing you may have wanted to mention is that after you saved the file you changed the BPM to 100 but you didn't mention to resave the file so for someone who didn't know when they would open this file at a later time 120 BPM would be showing and not the 100 BPM that you changed it to. Other than that great job and I really appreciate your tutorials.

Hi Greg, glad you liked. Nice that you proofed the video for me sometimes during a lesson i think of something to add and forget parts of it like the saving of the file. More lessons to follow.

Very good vídeo!, I wonder if you could make some tutorials, teaching how to set the other components, like amplifiers, pedals, etc, to get a better sound ("real" sounds), when creating my own songs. I am not still familiar to the sounds of this program and my songs yet sound awful. I wanna get sounds that get the best possible at playing... I was using only GP 5.2 for many years, because I considered it wasn't necessary to change for new versión, since I only needed GP to create songs with sheet music, however, some new sounds that I put to my songs required new ways to check if they really sound well, so I decided to evolve and got GP7, which's very nice what I need for.

Is there a way to eliminate the Tab and leave the standard notation only?
@GuitarMates
@GuitarMates 4 жыл бұрын
Yes there is. On the right hand side pane window you have the Song and Track window. Go to the track window. You will see a heading Musical Notation. You will see 3 options next to the word notation. If you deselect the left hand side button marked 5 you will be left with only notation.

When I insert a bar why does it appear on the left and not adding to the right, this is weird and bad. Does anyone else find this frustrating .....?
@GuitarMates

GUITAR WORKSHOP I had the same issue when I first started using GP. I suppose the thought process behind that was user tend to want to add a bar behind what they are working on rather than ahead. Now I have just got used to this fact. Hope you found the lesson useful thanks for watching.

standard music would show 4 bars per line, not 3 though.

I just want to add a note or append a bar. Can't find anything in the Guitar Pro user's guide. The most basic action - add a note, add a bar!!!

Hi, The course i aimed at understanding the layout and how to use it as a learning aid. I did stay way from editing as that also involves knowledge of music and theory. Notes are added to a line by entering the fret number of a line in the tab section. The value is selected from the left hand window where is shows the type of note value. As I am typing I can already feel how complicated this would get very quickly.
