Lol, as a Kenyan the 16 bribes is a lot but corruption is a real things esp involving government services like getting permits, drivers licences, electricity connections and most famously if you get pulled over by the police. They might ask for chai (tea) or to be subtle they hint or reference how hot or cold it is outside or how hard they're working. Most of the people find it annoying and the daring ones won't stop when they're flagged down. Some have literally gotten into fist fights with police when asked for a bribe, lol. But as the economy becomes more digitalised and cashless it is starting fade away, slowly. Some of the public taken to twitter to shame individual officers publicly which often results in them losing their jobs so its getting harder for them. As regards eating insects and 'Tibim', I'm guessing someone wad trolling the Geography Now! crew

I'm Kenyan, this guy did a good job researching about the country. A few mistakes here and there but overall I give him a 90%. Tribalism and corruption is our two biggest vices. For a Kenyan to get a govt service, they will have to pay bribes. We even have a corruption song 🤣🤣 'Nchi ya kitu kidogo' (a country something small). A policeman or civil servant will tell you, 'toa chai' (give me tea) akin to say, give me a bribe. The police are the most corrupt and kind of popularised the 'kitu kidogo' or bribery trend. When they find you in the wrong, they ask for a bribe to let you go and cover up the crime. This has spread to every department in govt. Employment and services by govt are extended to people of the same tribe if they hold a higher office. In fact corruption and tribalism has become an existential threat to Kenya as a Republic, it titters on a failed state. Many things don't work for the citizens if they don't have money to bribe.....however, Kenya still remains a great country. 'Carnivore' is a club that offers nyama choma 'grilled meat' which is very famous in Kenya and beverages....and entertainment.
