The story is nice, but it's not very realsitic. However, Ireland and Spain have ties that go way back in history, sure you've heard about the Book of Invasions. I have really missed countries like Greece 🇬🇷 (they're cousins, maybe not as close as Italy, but still part of our southern family, and for us family is FAMILY💞) in fact, our accents are really similar, we both are extremely passionate countries, and we love visiting each other; or maybe Ireland 🇮🇪 (they're like us but in a northern european version: friendly, nice, fun and loud -while partying), we also have many historical and cultural bonds (including folklore and legends), especially if we talk about territories like Galicia, Asturias or the Basque Country. There are also many other connections that have deepened our relationship like the maritime trade (especially with Galway, with its Spanish Arch💚), the Black Irish or the Spanish Armada.

@@Ambitwine I think it's because most Spaniards barely come in contact with Greeks compared to Italians. Out of the three Northern Mediterranean peninsulas, the Italian is in the center, while the Balkan is to the east, and the Iberian is to the west. This gives Italy the advantage of being the geographic center of the Mediterranean, hence why it would have more contact and ties with other Mediterranean civilizations than Spain. Greece and Southern Italy are especially very tied because of the Greco-Roman heritage since Magna Graecia, not to mention a lot of Southern Italians have some Greek DNA. Spain was definitely a lot further from Greece, hence why the diluted sense of familiarity.

Occitan (Aranese) is also a co-official language of Spain. It's official in the whole territory of Catalonia, even though it's just spoken in a small region called Val d'Aran. Silbo gomero isn't a language, but a code. That means you can "whistle" in Spanish, English, French... it's just a way to turn spoken sounds into whistles.
@FairyCRat3 жыл бұрын
As an Occitan Frenchman, I find it sad to see that Catalonia respects and preserves the Occitan language way more than we ever have. The French republic was built on an idea of extreme uniformity, and that translates through our terribly exclusionary language policy that has eradicated almost any language that was historically spoken on the mainland.

@@joaquincimas1707 Muchas gracias.

Salutations depuis l'Espagne

Yes bullfighting was traditional in Spain since before the rise of Carthage, seems it started with Greek or Phoenician colonists
@jorgepascualfuentecilla37463 жыл бұрын
For the Basques of yesteryear, bulls were sacred animals and guardians of divinity. I'm not going to say 100% sure that they had no contact with Greeks or Phoenicians, but it was a geographically remote and very isolated region.
