There should be a law giving the right to use the beaches regardless of who owns them, like we have in Norway for our nature. As long as people aren't actively stopping business with no regards for the owner, or destroying nature,- travel in nature is allowed everywhere.

@moneymule8209
@moneymule8209 5 жыл бұрын
@@ariellevi8763 most of these places, technically your allowed to go on the beach as all beaches are "public" but what hotels do is put like a fence or net from their side of the beach, even worse is that your only allowed up to the high water tide line if the property is on the beach, meaning that you pretty much always have to be in the water if you want to be in the "public but pretty much private" beaches. And this is what puts people off enjoying that portion of the beach. It's crazy now I think about it.

I've actually met a Mauritian guy in Japan, he was half-portuguese and half-afrikaner, both sides of his family apparently migrated from Mozambique (a portuguese colony at the time) and South Africa to Mauritius before he was born. At first I though he was a regular white guy but then he show that he could actually speak Hindi and then he presented himself as a guy from Mauritius, that's interesting considering he could very well pass as your average Australian/American/Canadian, etc. Just to show how truly diverse and interesting this place really is.

An interesting fact is that the flight between the two "sisters" islands is proportionally to its length (merely 200km), the highest priced flight in the world (costs several hundred euros). 8:54 this is mauritius explained in a few seconds I'm laughing at the accuracy 😂😂 Thank you for touching down on the beach topic..it's so sad that all the prettiest beach are becoming privatised and so little is left compared to before. It would've also been interesting if you talked about the current case of the Chagos Archipelagos where people who were evicted by Britain in order to allow the US to make the island their military base are still trying to go back to their home. Overall I think this video was a well-done one. The pronunciations had me cracking up but it's all good lmao. It was weird to see the French names being translated to English cos I live in _"Grapefruit"_ 😂 Mauritius is a melting pot of different cultures and I love this island with all my heart

Since Mauritius is still called "l'île Maurice" (Maurice island) in french, we used to have a game based on a pun on french tv where you could win a one week trip to Mauritius, but the loser had to agree to spend a week with Maurice in Lille (cut to a fat schmuck in northern France).
