Nick "Need to pick up the pace". Also Nick 1 sec later stops to pick up a rock. Haha. ;) (fyi: that could be me as well.) Absolutely gorgeous view: Thank you for taking us on that hike, Nick. It sure does look pretty steep - even on camera. Must be an amazing trail with stunning view points. Also love the part thru the forest though - soo soo beautiful.

How fun Nick, I grew up on Staten Island and we had a bit of Serpentinite, I understand a southward extension of the New England Uplands. I did know we had Serpentinite but I just looked up the rest. We had a hilly area with a street called "Serpentine St". I love your videos. thank you Nick and Liiz for taking us along on the incredibly beautiful hike! Fern in Minn

Beautiful hike on a beautiful day. Wonderful views on the way up and incredible views at the top. Though, parts of that trail seemed more like 'a suggestion' than 'a trail' (walking over rubble, two feet to the right - death fall, two feet to the left - death fall....). Thank you for making it to the top and back and thank you for sharing...!

"Steeper than it looks." It looks pretty steep to me already (@ about 14 minutes) and an old man like me (soon to be 77) who lives @ 850 feet or so would need a breather about every 25 yards (based on recent past experience). Gorgeous, though, and I love it when I have the trail to myself.

Wow! Rock City! Would this area of mostly rocks be considered a slide of sorts since there is an abrupt change and then boom - you are now in the woods? When you stopped and scanned the mountains in the background, what is this area called? Are you now on a cinder cone which does look like Craters of The Moon? This is totally awesome. What's even more awesome is that these cool serpentinites are sitting on the top of a mountain when they actually started in the ocean! That's how amazing the geology of the earth is! Thanks for the tour and congratulations to both of you for making it to the tippy top!

At this stage of my life I couldn't handle this. Found that out when I went to Larch Mtn in OR and could barely handle the 1/2 mile to the dome. My own fault, I guess, but the further up you go in elevation the harder it is to pull O2 out of the air, and ya gotta stop to catch yer breath pretty frequently. Liz handles these trails like a boss -- top speed and doesn't break a sweat.
