Hi everyone! Let me know what you think about this geometry node setup in the comments below! :)

Loved the various tooling allowing you to customize to such a level! Perfect video at the perfect timing actually for my university project, unfortunately not perfect for my student wallet hehe >.< Enjoy your day!

Fun fact: The guy who made this addon is an art director at ILM!

This is really intimidating. And i've been using blender since 2005.

Another great suggestion, I'm having fun with it!
@fallogingl2 жыл бұрын
Although it looks intimidating it’s actually not that bad 😂 basically you have modules and materials associated with those modules and crease values are also associated with certain elements. You can assign your custom modules to these materials to have your own platform. From his earlier releases he had normal values associated with slope dependent features like steps which was very powerful. I bought these packs to go through the geo node setups.

Do you find this compliments the Julian Gauthier procedural buildings tool or do they overlap too much to justify using both?

wow....so much potential for this....

This looks so powerful and looks straightforward but the developer really needs to do some tutorials.

Is Geometry Nodes similar to Grasshopper or are there great distinctions between them?
@bluewavesoverfuji2 жыл бұрын
Grasshopper is a parametric modelling tool and probably more complex. I think geo nodes could be called parametric though I haven't seen examples that match what grasshoper can do in terms of manipulating more organic forms. If its possible would love to see!

Is it just me? Or is the development of Geometry Nodes setting the foundation for Parametric design?
@TheCGEssentials2 жыл бұрын
I think it's a possibility, though at the moment I still find most of the implementations a little...clunky. I think though that someone will come out with a package of dynamic components like FlexTools for SketchUp that creates dynamic doors, windows, etc that will be very popular at some point
@spartan57602 жыл бұрын
@@TheCGEssentials Im still waiting for when geometry nodes can interact with other geometry nodes in a way they can pass on parametric values or mating constraints. It would be a dream to see dynamic components in Blender 😁

A quick question: Can you then export the finished model out as a non-procedural model? I have made quite a few asset packs for buildings. I would love to use them in this way and then sell the complete models.
@JamesMiddletonDesign2 жыл бұрын
@@bananarama742 I can understand that you can't resell the addon. But what about the models? If that is the case, it kind of makes this a pointless exercise doesn't is?
@InfinityLearning3D2 жыл бұрын
@@bananarama742 I guess they are talking about the model it self, not the addon.

$30 get's you 6 building styles? I'd expect at least a hundred to a few hundred at that price point, he's basically trying to offer a tech demo for full price.
@asenpeshev12 Жыл бұрын
He is selling the addon, not the assets, they r a nice bonus if anything. Just make your own doors, windows and textures and use the addon to put things together
