I've just been in and out of Uzbekistan a few times by car. It's become visa free for a lot of Westerners and developed nations just recently. The authorities are very good and take good care of tourists/guests. It's a friendly safe place to visit. Worth a trip. Good luck to Uzbekistan!

@@DirtMankee Privet! I am from Tashkent. Yes, that's sucks! Also we should mention about corruption, "freedom of speech", some individuals in authorities. The lucky ones go for well paid jobs in USA, Europe or Russia. Poor guys have to build houses and clean streets for 20-30k of Rubble somewhere deep in Russia or Kazakhstan. We should mention that, otherwise foreigners who are commenting here will think that our authorities are perfect)

For one, I needed a character from an obscure country, so I came up with Uzbekistan off the top of my head, so I did a little research into it, I ended up loving it, I learned loads about their culture and history, and started learning some of the language.

However, people don't have any freedoms, other Central Asian countries have (relatively obvz), there is a constant violation of human rights, no governmental opposition, the corruption that is not heard of, and many other prospects, which would have been caused loads of exposure in the media, if it was in any other region in the world.

Tajikistan is the worst off in that region it seems. They got the short end of the stick in terms of natural resources. Many people from down there moved to Moscow to find a better life. The rice dish called "Plov" from down there is worth trying. It's simple yet delicious. Good work as usual Shirvan.

Personally been there last month. The new president is clever. He opened up the country to visa-free travel and is reforming it. The country is safe and secure, with police presence obvious but not intimidating like in China. The people are clean and hard working. Everything is organised. Religious freedom is evident. The country is on a right trajectory. God speed Uzbekistan!

My girlfriend is Uzbek, from Tashkent, it’s always interesting to get an overhead view, but it’s also nice to get stories from someone who lived there. Find an Uzbek, ask them about their homeland, it’s a more interesting place than anyone gives it credit for

Tajikistan should take advantage of the traffic going through their country from the Fergana Valley to Tashkent. Don't restrict anyone's movement, just charge a reasonable road toll.

@jacob I'm a Türkmen from Afghanistan, it will happen brother, i dont know when but it will happen because people already want a unified Central Asia for turks
@magnuscoles5010
@magnuscoles5010 5 жыл бұрын
@jacob the main obstacle on the course of a unified Central Asia is Russia, they'll kill kidnap whoever tries to even bring the idea of turkic nationalism in central asia, but still the idea actually exists in every central asian's mind that you can have a single prosperous Türkistan instead of several weak nation states that can be easily taken down if they show any signs of Independent ideas, but i as a turkmen who's gonna be a part of this great country if it every were to form will do my part will it military service or working a factory I'm ready to sacrifice everything for the greater good and just like me there are millions of other fellow turks that will do the same if not more, all we need is someone to lead us!
@magnuscoles5010
@magnuscoles5010 5 жыл бұрын
@jacob the word turkmen was actually the universal term to all of the turkic people it was only after the Russians came along and gave them different names as a part their divide and conquer strategy, but now turkmen is mostly referred to any one who's a citizen of Türkmenistan and people who are part of the oghuz branch of the turkic people, the relation of the turkic people to each other is solely based on culture and language, basically they all were once nomadic tribes that unified under one huge tribal Confederation that formed the gokturks and after the collapse of this great empire they all now shared a common identity and went conquering vast amounts of land creating great empires such as the ottomans khazars timureds the mughals and many more and because of these conquests they were spread thin but still share a common language and can understand each other to some degree, which is amazing when you consider the fact that these people were away from each other for so long!

It's called the great game. The Great Game - also known as Bolshaya Igra - was an intense rivalry between the British and Russian Empires in Central Asia, beginning in the nineteenth century and continuing through 1907 wherein Britain sought to influence or control much of Central Asia to buffer the "crown jewel" of its empire: British India. by Kallie Szczepanski

Thank you for the amazing breakdown! One thing I realised watching this video: I've heard before that just the Ferghana valley has comparable population to the whole of Kazakhstan, however I didn't put two and two together and realise Uzbekistan has a larger population than Kazakhstan! This suddenly put so many things in context. I too by the way, recommend brain4breakfast's video on Uzbekistan
