Suzuki Jimny Camping - Campfire Food & Carving A Kuksa Cup. Visited By A Dog

An overnight camping trip in old UK Woodland. The high winds in the UK have stopped in time for a quick overnight camp before the national lockdown. There was no rain forecast so I left the tent fly at home. The plan was to keep things relatively simple so I can relax most of the day. You're only seeing the parts of the day where I was doing something. Much of the day was spent reading a book and in the evening making the Kuksa blank.
It was 4℃ with a very light breeze and I'm camped in my favourite local woodland campsite called Blaydon Burn Farm. I hope you enjoy it and that you're safe and well wherever you are.
I don’t use a lighter to start the fire! I find it fun to light fires without one. I have plenty lighters in the car. Я не использую зажигалку, чтобы разжечь огонь! Мне весело разжигать костры без него. У меня много зажигалок в машине.

You’re bang on! Time alone outside. Hiking, camping, whatever… it’s never failed to give more than it’s taken. If anyone is worried they’ll get bored alone, take a piece of wood to carve something (doesn’t matter what), or a book, or just stare into the fire. It’s an incredible reset button.

Think id prefer to start a fire my way , in 1 minute not 1 hour , definitely thinking about getting a new jimny though, is this roof top tent lite and suit the jimny? What model darche is it mate ??

I love the slow process instead of a boring lighter :) A jimny can’t hold much weight on the roof. The front runner tent is one of the lightest weight roof tents you can buy. It’s still over the recommended weight limit though. Darche eclipse. Its cracking kit imho got it from trekoverland.com

@@OutThereEquipped yeah that's the only problem with them you cant put too much weight in or on them or you'll find yourself foot to the floor on a highway doing 80 klms ... I had a Suzuki sierra soft top i loved it , had it decked out for hunting and the places i could get to no 200k 4x4 would be able to get to , windscreen folded down ,tail gate would swing open and fold down with a gas cooker built into it....thinking about the jimny and if it would be able to get to the places that my sierra could get to

I’m Lucky to be close by a natural campsite like this. They’re very rare in the UK, unless you do it illegally. Responsible Wild camping isn’t too bad but certainly less easy to do with a car. :)

Hi John, it's a Suzuki Jimny. They're unfortunately not available in the USA. It is indeed a superb off roader, albeit I tend not to push it's off road limits with my general use. It's a ton of fun though and brilliant for car camping :)

Made a list of pros and cons but one major con from a video I've watched said "it's too light, be careful of the strong winds, could make you unwilling change lanes" The car is definitely light but is it that light? Do you think i should get the new version?

Hi it’s light and with stock suspension it’s handling isn’t amazing on highways at speed. a suspension upgrade lift kit stiffens the ride and it’s perfectly comfortable in my view. It’s not the type of car you would drive fast and recklessly, too under powered and it could not be any less aerodynamic if it tried 😂 As a 4x4 I feel it is amazing and on roads it’s ok.
