@IrishNProud93 Well he went for an interview to be accepted amongst one of Germany's best choirs, I would be terrified too. Any way nothing to be terrified of because by what I understood Mons.Ratzinger saying the Boy sings well and has been accepted.

We had a choir teacher in school who used to thrown hot coffee at us, we had a math teacher who would thrown the iron meter ruler at us, and our Liberian would smash our fingers with a book if we were speaking, I can't see how a slap in the face in 1960 and 1970 is seen as wrong. he never beat any one to the ground but gave a slap.

@priest008 it was reported by the local press (Regensburg) that some former choir boys told this, And the church downplays all incidents, And have now even gotten their lawyers to threaten the press, its serious but the judiciary show little or no interest at all, And slaps into the face were not uncommon,

@PandaMishima Deffinately, I will keep you in my prayers. If I may suggest a few things that would help you, read the lives of the saints, a very good book that comes to mind is called "The Glories of Mary" written by St.Alphonsus, who was one of the greatest theologians the Church will ever know.

Damn all the idiotic comments here! Yes Mons. Ratzinger slapped students back in the 60's, 70's but in the 80's he admits that he was glad that that punishment was removed although e used it occasionally, many kids of the 60's were hit by teachers it was common punishment, so stop ringing at Mons. Georg's neck just because he is a priest or the Pope's brother.

@LFTArg LIAR he didn't beat them! there is a difference between a beating and a slap in the face! In the 60's every teacher slapped their students! Especially musicians! Have you lived through the 60's ???? Every one sees this as a wow because he is a preist? How unfair, why don't you string out every single teacher then? He did say that the was glad when in the 80's this punishment was abolished.
