Congrats World Champion!! "“You know,” I said, “all this time I thought the Olympic Champion was somebody incredibly special.” Frank gave me a consoling look, as though he would have liked to protect me from this final disillusionment. “And then you found out,” he said, “that it was only me.”"

Forgot my NZ flag so got myself a cheap one from Amazon for the meet. Was worried when you finished the victory lap with no flag for photos! Was glad you got a good one.

I was at the 2019 NCAA Indoors in Birmingham & saw all 3 of you guys run. Beamish won the mile in a speedy 4:07 (I know it was tactical) & Morgan won the 3 & 5,000 meters off of a strong kick. Can't wait to see Ollie doing battle with Jacob soon.

Beamish was not stretching at the end to win, he was charging past the rest. Great timing.

Oh, so this is the coffee club that i was reading about in George's interview comments 😂 Makes sense now😊 Proud Kiwi here. I grew up watching your bro Hugo repping Wanganui collegiate 🤩 he had a good kick in secondary schools. Your kick is Nek level 😂 Congrats on your achievements to date. I'm sure this is just the beginning. Future sub 13, 5k and sub 8 steeples. Will go down as one of the all time great Kiwi track runners 🤩

what interview did Ollie watch? Hocker wasn't pissed post-race.
@kevinkasp

Not pissed off, but you could hear the frustration in his tone as well as in his language because with just a few steps remaining he had gotten past Hobbs Kessler (the only person he thought had a kick that could match his going into the last turn) and was “certain” he was just a second or two from becoming champion.

ya, a bit frustrated. Also was pretty complimentary of Geordie. Ollie is just an idiot, doesn't think when he's speaking.

Think you’re a bit harsh on Narve. I didn’t take his insta post as making excuses, he says his tactics were bad, used too much energy, mentions inexperience, couldn’t match front 4. He expresses disappointment, says he gained valuable experience. Maybe just some nuances with Norwegian communication, but what more do you want from the guy? I’d rather this raw, messy statement instead of some social media pro nothing caption, it’s a shame to then pick his words apart. Narve isn’t Jakob, not born with epic self confidence apparently. 😬

Mariano garcia won his heat but was given lane 1 in the final because WA changed seeding to from performance based to World rank 72hrs before the champs. Had he gotten lane 5 or 6, as he deserved being a semi winner, he would have been able to get the pole easier. But from lane 1 didnt have much of a chance and exerted too much to try and fail. Also one of the 800m prelims had the italian & belgian who were world #1 & #2 on SB. WA putting too much emphasis on world rank.

if you're stuck with star alliance from denver to europe, and have choices on booking, i recco taking the ua flight outbound, even if with connection in the US, so you're more likely to get the bag (as bad as ewr, iad, ord are, they still get bags through). on the way back, take the flights avoiding the US connection so you don't have to wait to recheck your bags at the first US airport. And if they loose it you're ok for a few days waiting for it in CO.
