@Morse Dregs what do u think about the recent attacks on performers/COMEDIANS?, seems that the CHRIS ROCK incident might have opened the floodgates. In my opinion it's too early to tell if there will be more attacks I think these people are rushing the stage cause it's the popular thing right now and every news outlet and social media entity are talking about it and discussing it!

Blu Musix George Carlin was a comedian. Bernie Sanders is a politician. I pity you for not being able to see a difference. Although obviously I needn't expect coherent viewpoints from a man-child Japanese cartoon fan.
@Grimm_Butterfly
@Grimm_Butterfly 9 жыл бұрын
grilledtortilla Why are you assuming that I can't tell the difference over a COMMENT, dude. A COMMENT. If you're SUCH a fan of George Carlin, you would know that he made fun of the violence because he thought it made us uncivilized and barbaric. You're proving him right. That people are SO STUPID they can't have a goddamn conversation without some asshole attacking someone for literally no reason. George was a comedian yes, but he wasn't a psycho douchebag that would have applauded you for this. So if you're here to speak on what George would want, look in the fucking mirror first, meathead. 1) assumed so much you have no details 2) want to debate without a set of facts 3) try to somehow intimidate me with your "intimate" knowledge of George Carlin 4) act a total jerk and as a sidenote, your observation of politics doesn't match Carlin. He did make political commentary and he did get involved, but he didn't believe the system would ever allow a real public servant to hold office; they would rig it. and if they didn't rig it, you'd have violent, uneducated Americans attacking each other instead of having a conversation. So go ahead with your overly pessimistic douchey-attitude. At least Carlin got paid for his comedy and didn't relish in the violence. He mocked it because it's all bullshit.

Short remembrance. I was with a buddy in Manhattan havin a beer at a bar. Down the street was some commotion. A film crew. Filming Prince of Tides. A common occurrence in the city. George Carlin walks into the bar and sits beside us and orders a beer. We look over - know who he is - we tip our beer and nod and smile. he returns the toast and smiles. We sat drinking our beer - I ordered another and said - buy this man a beer, please. George accepted. We toasted and sat. My buddy and I continue our conversation - George heads out to rejoin the filming. He thanks us for the beer and we toast him yet again. Like ships in the night. Lovely encounter.

Carlin wasn't a comedian he was a philosopher who happened to choose humor as his forum. In my life of 53 years there are a few moments where I can point to where my brain evolved, where that switch was flipped, and I started thinking in a different way. Off the top of my head I think of 3 people who did that for me. Arthur C Clark, Carl Sagan, and George Carlin. And I can even remember the observation he made that most people would call a "joke" but in reality its a very deep testament to the absurdity of human interactions especially how we say things. As Carlin says in the interview words convey thoughts. What he is implying and always points out in his shows is that most people are imprecise in their word usage and that's one of the reasons we are so fucked up. Because you have to ask yourself all the time what is the context which adds a different layer processing to figure out what people are saying. So the line goes like this. Carlin is about to board a plane and the stewardess days "Mr. Carlin you can get on the plane." And Carlin says "Fuck you. I'm getting in the plane. Let Evil Knieval get on the plane." With Sagan it was the realization that we aren't separate from the universe. We aren't just observers looking out at the universe. We are part of the universe. A small fraction of it and our bodies are composed of the products of dead stars. Stars that fused hydrogen into helium, then lithium, then carbon, and so on to iron and when they exploded created the heavier elements. We ARE the universe trying to understand itself. Which when you think about how BIG that thought is, the profoundness of such a thought, and then look at talking monkey shit like the obsession with Kim Kardashian's big ass and Donald Trump pissing on hookers in Russia the Carlin in me is just disgusted to be considered the same species as the rest of the apes on this planet who pretend to deserve the name homosapien. You can see it when Carlin talks more and more as he gets older. The disgust with the bulk of humanity. He often eluded to how good it would be to just start over. Another one of his lines was "Save the whales? Fuck the whales! Save yourself. The planet will be just fine. We aren't going to destroy the planet you dumbasses, but we just might destroy ourselves." So he was a philosopher first comedian second.
