I'm English and only found out about O&A a couple of months ago. Bill Burr brought me here. Since then I've discovered the genius that is Jim Norton, Patrice, Jim Jefferies etc. But as a long-term Carlin fan I'm also a little ashamed that it took me nearly 2 months to type in the magic words - Opie & Anthony George Carlin. Amazing show, thanks for uploading.

When they discuss about the whole 'words hurt' thing is so true. At my school now, the saying " Sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me" is now, "Sticks and stones will break my bones but words will break my heart". Ugghh its just sickening how scared we've become of words.
@geekrockrats10 жыл бұрын
I just wanna puke,I wondered what happened to that saying in this eggshell world we live in. That is disgraceful,no one saying that has any dignity. "Break my heart"? Words?!?!

Lmfao tbh id rather have someone try to fight me than making fun of me, theyre wrong forsure on trying to coddle us but something about the kids who use words to try and bring you down is some pussy shit. When ppl would talk shit id ask if they want to rumble and they never did so i gotta assume anyone who thinks we should be proud of being verbal assholes are compensating for getting beat up by their little sister

Yeah, thats something that always stuck in my craw. You don't badmouth a guy like George behind his back then kiss his ass in person. Dice Clay who badmouths everyone sure, but Carlin? I thought Life's worth losing was Carlin's best performance. Sure he ranted and his humour was much darker but that was Carlin being absolutely true and sincere to himself as an artist and as a comedian in the twilight of his life. Good observation.

Actually the real intelligence and insight is always in the fringes of society, that's part of the appeal. The vast majority of people lack the awareness to even differentiate what is real and what is phony. That's just the way it is, no need to lament it. They have a saying in New Orleans-"Them's that know, know they know, them's that don't know, don't know they don't know". I don't care that millions of people watch "Lady Gaga"...who needs 'em?
