He never played this the same way twice. Such a groove.

I love musicians like George Duke who actually play precise scale runs and not that hit and miss stuff some do. I love it when the melody dances in my musical ear both entertaining and mesmerizing my brain and soul. In other words, the man is a skilled musician.

George was a fine musician but creative music is not “scale runs’. You must hate straight ahead jazz.

he is so amazing. I don't know how I feel about him playing a rhodes emulation with custom mark 1 sitting right next to him. I'm just happy to see him play again and not just righting songs for the weather channel.

FYI for Mr. gimmeagig. Most bass players who play fretless bass had at one time or another played on stand up basses that ARE fretetless. I've been playing guitar for 16 years and just started playing on a fretless guitar. By doing so, it has improved my theory knowledge in chord structures. Especially on my guitars WITH frets. So don't knock bass players for what they use.

@tyleryesta1 yeah, i'd rather see him play on a real rhodes... BUT, he plays an emulation instead of the real one because it's not an emulation of a rhodes. it's a wurlitzer emulation actually. and the original studio track is recorded with a real wurli. ;)

@tyleryesta1 Real rhodes can't pitch bend. It's a tough decision when you have both but in the end i can understand him favoring the wurly emulation with pitch bend. I feel like his use of pitch bend is so perfect in this tune, i mean it's called "It's On" for god's sake he wants to simulate love making.

it's an instrumental trio, not a disco band. Bass plays a solo, and is present in the score because it's 1/3rd of the band
