Highlights of the most devastating Heavyweight puncher in boxing history! Big George in his prime.
Patreon: / hanzagod
George Foreman - Is an American former professional boxer, entrepreneur, minister and author. In boxing, he was nicknamed "Big George" and competed between 1967 and 1997. He is a two-time world Heavyweight champion and an Olympic gold medalist. After a troubled childhood, Foreman took up amateur boxing and won a gold medal in the heavyweight division at the 1968 Summer Olympics. Having turned professional the next year, he won the world heavyweight title with a stunning second-round knockout of then-undefeated Joe Frazier in 1973. He defended the belt twice before suffering his first professional loss to Muhammad Ali in the iconic Rumble in the Jungle in 1974. In 1994 at age 45 won the unified WBA, IBF, and lineal Heavyweight championship titles by knocking out 26-year-old Michael Moorer. Foreman has been inducted into the World Boxing Hall of Fame and International Boxing Hall of Fame. In 2002, he was named one of the 25 greatest fighters of the past 80 years by The Ring.

I don't know how many of you guys have worked with, or been friends with, a really big guy like George. I have a friend I worked with for over 20 years. He played semi pro football, and was working his way to the NFL when an injury ended that chance. But this guy is just BIG-everywhere. He's about George's size, 6'-4", 260lbs. I mean, this dude has big hands, wrists, arms, etc. I know standing next to him, I'd sure hate to have him get pissed at me. He'd break me in half!! Lucky for most people that he's a gentle guy, and it takes a lot to really get him mad. I remember one time we were out at a bar with a couple co-workers after work. A couple guys came in looking for trouble, and pretty soon they came over and started their shit. 'Dave' stood up, and one of the troublemakers says "Don't think it bothers any me that your a big guy". Dave says to him "It's never bothered me any, either"! That pretty much ended the discussion, and they left not long after, without a single punch being thrown. That comeback Dave stated was a classic, I thought.

Further proof that all men are not created equal. There are monsters that walk among us. Foreman was a monster. A savagely strong guy who had a taste for hurting people. Even in his comeback as an older fighter he had frightening power and an ability to absorb unbelievable punishment. Prime Holyfield hit him with like 20 punches in a row and Foreman’s facial expression never changed. Great video, it captures everything that Foreman was.

Foreman's power was his prize winner for sure, followed by his chin, but people overlook some of his other techniques that made him great. Instead of head movement he used an old strategy from the bare knuckle days. He'd control his opponents arms with his own to block punches before they start, occupy space, and push them when they tried to enter. The pushing was kryptonite for Frazier because Frazier relied on head movement to fight and enter where he'd bend low at the waste without much lateral movement, and Foreman would push him so Frazier was constantly off balance and could never enter. It helps to have the reach advantage for this, and a lot of strength. But it's Foreman, so that was never a problem

CRC 713 70’s foreman was a completely different fighter to 90’s foreman. Prime foreman used to smother his opponents hands before they were able to punch, then he used to proceed to decimate them easily. Whereas 90’s foreman used the legendary cross guard technique which he learnt from the old mongoose Archie Moore. This was a far more effective defence however it left him in a spot where he could not counter or throw punches back. One of the greatest fighters to ever live and definitely one of the scariest. I believe he would have beaten ali if they had a rematch since George would have known Ali’s game plan the second time after learning from the first.

First stint as champ, Foreman had an unorthodox style. He was the only boxer, I've ever seen, who used 'mass' to his advantage, as opposed to technique, as an elite, champion boxer, and the most awesome heavyweight of all time. Dude like Ali had an 'elite' technique for punching. Iron Mike was super finely tuned to his technique, too. Younger George reminds me of the 'Tauren Chieftain' in World of Warcraft, who resides in the city - Thunderbluff. All the other kings and queens of the major cities in Azeroth, have a super cool axe, a bow, or a sword. The Tauren Chieftain carries a freaking huge log, as his weapon. Tauren are like 5 feet taller than all the other races. Their part 'cow.' They're just STRONG. And if you use 'technique' when you are built like a thick tree, Like Big George, you're not capitalizing on your advantage. Anyway. Foreman's 2nd time a champ. He had the purest punching skill. It made Ali's look kinda 'imprecise.' Really happy this clip magically appeared as one of my youtube choices.

Imagine technology is so developed and we can take every humans DNA and able to make a superhuman. Overall strenght, heavy hand and body resistance of Foreman, reflex, footwork and pain threshold of Ali, hand speed of Patterson, reach and intimidation of Sonny Liston, chin of Oliver McCall, size of Vitali Klichko, explosiveness of Mike Tyson, punch of Ernie Shavers and adapting ability and skills of Lennox Lewis. The man that I described would be absolute superhuman.

Tresfaye Williams peekaboo defence has no defence to the uppercut. They are always open to it. Sonny Liston exposed that against Patterson. That’s George’s signature punch! Buster Douglas removed Tyson from consciousness of the earth with it. Tyson went back to corner after r1 with Lewis complained he was hurt bad to Ronnie Shields from the first uppercut Lewis threw. George a whole new realm of power. Only Sonny Liston and Joe Louis can compare to blunt force trauma of his punches. Evander Holyfield on record saying George hit him harder than anyone and he faced Tyson, Bowe and Lewis when they were reigning world champions!

My God! That staredown sent shivers down to my ballsack!! Forget the TNT in both his hands, one of the most underrated features of Big George is his cast-iron chin. He's listed as having one of the all-time greatest chins in boxing history. So for Muhammad Ali to beat him at his absolute physical prime, back when he was a glowering invincible wrecking-machine, Just speaks volumes about what an incredibly special talent The Greatest really was! I mean Big George came back a full 20 yrs after losing his title to Ali and went on to reclaim the Heavyweight Championship again! Let that sink in! ... And Ali beat him. The undefeated Slayer of all heavyweights. KO. Right there in the centre of the ring. Unquestionably the greatest sporting moment in history.
