@GregTehGoose If you say Joey isn't fast and creative, you're either mad or blind/deaf... he may not use thousand of different techniques like George, but he's incredibly fast, aggresive, talented, versatile and most of all CREATIVE, because his drums fit Slipknot perfectly. Just watch him play live (Snuff at Jimmy Kimmel and Spit it Out at 9.0 Live for example) to check out how versatile he can be

Joey is indeed an amazing drummer, and no one tried to claim he was the best, not that I've seen at least. You can say someone is good without claiming they're the best. His style fits slipknot's style perfectly.

Geez stop hating on drummers guys. Seriously. FYI Joey is fast as hell, considering that he's a pretty small made guy as well. He has maybe 2 solos he's ever done, and one of them is crap, I admit. But that's it. Just cuz he's not every other drummer out there recording solos and going all commercial doesn't mean he's not as good. He's an outstanding musician, in every possible way, as a drummer, guitarist, vocalist, producer and human being. Stop hating on good musicians. Geez.

Yeah Joey had a style back on their self titled album, the hip-hop/breakbeat type drumming, but then he completely ditched it for generic tom beats and fast double bass. It may be a hard fact for you to face but George surpasses Joey on Nile's work AND his solo stuff.

A few years back Joey was widely considered the best drummer in the world, that doesnt make hes music any better. Metallica did re-invent metal in the start 80s where glam metal was pretty much everything that the rock world listened to, metallica said "Fuck this" and started making thrash, which inpiered people into making the metal that they do now. While it is true that Lars went to america to play tennis he did arrive there with a fiery passion for metal aswell-

As far as i have heard (no facts here) Joey invented some sort of doublekick technique. Besides if it comes down to who have invented most stuff then take a look at Lars Ulrich, metallica pretty much re-invented metal and made it mostly what it is today, yet he gets bashed for being an unskilled dummer, which is to some extrend true. I dont like Joey's music, but hes a good drummer, there aint no question about that, plus he has ben named the best drummer in the world a few times = no discussion

Metallica did pioneer Thrash in times where the metal/rock genre was dominated by glam they went "oh fuck this" and then made the music that they did and because hugely popular doing so, also, saying that metallica isnt thrash would be the same as claiming that they arent one of the big four of thrash metal, which is just flat out wrong.
