Meh...I'll admit that I didn't hate the prequels when they came out, though I started to dislike them as time went on. I still don't hate them, actually. I think Revenge of the Sith is as good as Return of the Jedi. But, I think most people who are now saying the prequels weren't that bad are really only doing so because the Disney travesty was so bad. Just because there are worse Star Wars movies now doesn't mean the prequels are any better than they were. The prequels do have the advantage of having been planned in their entirety before shooting began...at least the major beats, even if some of the specifics changed, at least. And, really, the overall story in the prequels was a good one, even if the execution fell flat. Disney's garbage doesn't even know what story it's trying to tell.

You couldn't have said it any better, the prequels have one of the best stories ever if you ask me but the execution was bad.
