George has been my all time favorite ever since I first heard him play in 1984 with the Tooth & Nail album. The tone he gets is above any other player out there I feel. I just love the growl he gets from his guitar.
@jeffallen33828 ай бұрын
Would love to hear a break down of his song called "Until I know (slight return)" off of the Shadowlife album. Dokken fans have mostly not liked this album but George's playing on this short instrumental is some of his best tone work. Another great song that not many know about is his song "Satan's Shorts" instrumental he did. These are 2 songs of his tone that I can't get out of my head!

I'll have to go back to those cause I don't even remember them. I didn't keep up with the band after Beast. I did love that live album though!

@LicksOfTheBeast I love all their albums! Dysfunctional and Shadowlife are both great. They really show how good their song writing was back then! I just wish Shadowlife didn't get so much hate from a lot of their fans. I don't get it when the album is filled with some of their best writing and George's tone was just off the charts! My wife and I have seen Dokken/Lynch Mob over 18 times

This solo melted by 12 yr old brain back in the day. Love Lynch. "It's Not Love" into and main riffs are my all time loves...and the most 80s video ever created. Also, George's sliding finger tremolo technique is otherworldly.

AWESOME video, starting it with your new axe. I have always leaned to the early Dokken/Lynch guitar work. Cool that your pup came in and made an appearance. Very interesting at the 8:44 mark, you talk about Lynch's style and it is more difficult, and you nailed the slide notes. As always, love your break downs.

Thank you for featuring George Lynch! Your explanations are top notch Nico. I first saw George when they opened for Aerosmith when Back For The Attack came out. I love his work on Under Lock and Key but for me BFTA is his best work with Heaven Sent, Prisoner and Mr Scary major faves. I watched him play Mr. Scary front row once with Lynch Mob and it was incredible to watch him up close. I think he won an award for In My Dreams . His tone and phrasing is outstanding. Very well done! 👏

A George fan here, and I feel the album where he really opened up and diversified was his 1993 solo album Sacred Groove. So many grooves, styles, melodies and speedy runs on that album. There was something on that record for everyone to get into. Having guest singers like Glenn Hughes and Mandy Lion certainly didn't hurt!

I'm not a guitar player but George is my favorite. To be honest, my favorite song by Dokken was "The Hunter". That was when George was really hitting it all the musical cylinders for me. Don doesn't understand, even 40+ years later, what a powerhouse team he had in George, Jeff and Mick. No other "version" of Dokken has ever come close to replicating that "magic" and never will. I'm glad George and Jeff continue to write and play awesome music. At least their legacy didn't end when Dokken broke up.

Yup it's a new acquisition 😊 But it needs a new bridge as the saddles were cut too deep and the strings end up too close to the fretboard. You can hear in this solo, the tone is a bit choked like the strings are not vibrating freely.

I'm no guitar player, but I've been listening to "in my dreams" for close to 40 years now, so why can I hear slight differences when it's played here?? He seems to slow it up in places. Almost like he loses the beat for a second- twice. Why can't he play it identically?
