From what I've found, there were 3 pre-WWII PPKs and they were chromed and engraved. Most PPKs in this manner sell for $4500-9000. One of the specific PPKs to this story did get auctioned off a few months ago (owner, who wasnt the original owner btw, died and the funds went to family). The price was never made public so that they could get as much for it as they can.

General Tso was real, but the dish actually has nothing to do with him, and isn't even authentic Chinese cuisine. The dish was actually invented be Chef Peng Chang-keui. He invented the dish in 1955, and it hardly resembled the dish we know today. Chef Peng died in 2016, at the age of 98. The real General Tso was a Hunan statesman and General that lived during the 1800's, and was a member of the Quing Dynasty. Chef Peng was born in the same village that General Tso came from, and named his dish in his honor. Netflix had a documentary about the invention and origin of the dish, but I'm not sure if it's still there. They actually do a pretty good job of covering the General, Chef Peng, and the dish.
