Him and his music has freed me so much and I can’t thank him enough for it! As a 23 year old man he’s the the first original pop star! He lived his life the way he wanted no apology and no regrets! I’m sure he helped so many people when he was alive and we hear about his charitable contributions that he wanted kept quiet. I will always remember you George was a fan before your passing and got heavily into your music sometimes last year and that was that I was free! There are great singers out there, but they are always looking for that great song, that great producer, that great music, etc. Not George Michael, he did it all on his own, wrote, sang, produced and did the musical instruments and did it HIS way. I'm 71, I'll never see another George Michael in my lifetime. My daughter got me hooked, she listened to WHAM, 24/7, drove me nuts, but then I started to listen to George's voice and really loved it. I still listen to him everyday.

Out of all the deaths in 2016, this is the one that's hit me the hardest. I still find it hard to believe. I have always loved his voice, and thought he was fine as hell, especially when he went solo and during this period. Didn't matter that he was gay. I thought he was sexy af. I think this is my all time favorite song from him because it spoke of so many truths. Truths that I've denied myself, by letting others dictate how I should live my life. I was always struck how even as he turned 40 he talked about being "old" - he seemed to feel his 40s were old while so many others (including many of us) were still not feeling much older. I always thought of him as a sensitive and very old soul - felt so much, hurt so much, did so much for so many people - just a generous incredibly self-aware and aware of the world which can be such a blessing and a curse. He is so missed....

LisaMann he did not hate it all if you listen to his later interviews he said WHAM! was the best time of his life and Blast and he made peace with Faith he was just overwhelmed at the time being alone for the first time without Andrew the really only thing he hated was the media lies which still make him out to be this said depressed never happy man he hated that hehad pain same as we do he lost people he loved but he also had happy times specially when he died he was looking to the holiday with friends and family sadly he died in his sleep of an illness he may not have even known about atleast I hope not it is a rare condition with sometimes very little symptoms probably triggered by that Pneumonia years ago

He wrote, yes but while I recognise his huge talent at writing commercial/universal pop songs, none of them mean a thing to me. Ella Fitzgerald and Judy Garland didn't write songs either. This modern opinion that singers who don't write are somehow inferior is nonsense. Especially when the singer in question - like Sinatra, Fitzgerald, Elvis etc - redefined the whole concept of singing a song.

Don't exaggerate. He developed from a "pop boy" to a fully accomplished artist with depth. And that I didn't see that coming. It's probably quite rare. But the opening statement is too much honour. Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson and Prince, Paul McCartney, Madonna, Elton John ... and probably tens of others are also on the A-list and probably higher in ranking.

I visited Goring on Thames last week for the first time. Something I always wanted to do since it was back in 2005 when I started dancing and singing along his song "Amazing" on a balcony in Soll (Austria) that jump started me to wirte my first lyrics. I was 11 and not that much aware about sexuality and such. George his music grew upon me through the years. As my writing started to improve and evolve into full books and I grew and embraced my authentic me. It felt as something coming full circle when I touched his former home with my hand, in such a beautiful place. I had a look over the Thames and really understood why George felt at home and at ease there. I ended my visit in Goring on Thames at a local restaurant which he dined in regularly if I'm not mistaken. I really loved the atmoshpere during my time there, even while it was a rainy day. And better, I got to share this visit with my brother whom I told about why I so much wanted to visit this place during our roadtrip. His legacy lives on folks, just wanted to share this experience with you.

I love this one. GM went back to that classic dance music of his in the 90's. And I guess that's what hurts most for me is the fact he could always write a great track and still had that amazing voice of his that it pains me to think of all those wonderful new music he still had left in him. He could have gone on for decades, just changing his style of music as he grew older and we grew with him. But still, the music he has made for us, I will continue to play and enjoy as I always have done. George will always be alive and well in my heart and mind. Forever.
