George was huge but if you live in the states, his music was boycotted because his record company wouldn't give his albums after FAITH radio play because (1) he wouldn't do promo or tour for Listen Without Prejudice and then, of course, he sued SONY to get out of his contract and that was the nail in the coffin for us getting to hear his new music while the rest of the world did - and he sold many millions of records all over the world except for here....Where he sold about 1 million only a year. He was insanely popular and a huge star, most played Brit musician .....

Shirley Lewis didn't sing as his backing singer at this time. Hard day is from the album Faith which was released in 1987 when George Michael was only 24. The album is almost a DIY album, written, arranged and produced entirely by him, except for Look at your hands, which he co-wrote with David Austin. George also played quite a few of the instruments himself while recording and was his own backing singer! At the end of Hard Day, that's also Yog!! 💕 (George Michael) 😍
