I met him in Ibiza when he was filming the Club Tropicana video, coincidentally in a bar called Tropicana. He was on his own and for three nights he came out clubbing with the gang of blokes I went on holiday with, I spent a lot of time with him because we had music in common. When I said I wasn't into pop music he said "The Beatles were pop music" and it opened up my musical taste which had been mired in snobbery. He was the most softly spoken, mild mannered sweet man. I must admit I was surprised at the time how little success he had with the girls, I thought he was shy :D. For those that love him, yes, he was everything you'd want him to be.

Let me share my George Michael story... he was the most wonderfull singer... one that will always remain a part of the soundtrack of my life... I had the pleasure of seeing live in Portugal on his last tour "25live"...me and my best friend travelled almost 400km (almost 250 miles) and it was worth it! Still to this day one of the best concerts I've seen! He has amazing songs!

One of the best concerts of my lifetime as well. I saw George's 25 live concert twice. Once in New York at Madison square garden and once in Washington DC. I will never ever forget those concerts. His voice just enveloped the arena. The songs of sorrow made people cry, but yet plenty of songs that we all danced to.. What a beautiful talented amazing human being.

Hi, George had & still has the greatest, most beautiful in the world. George had no vocal training either. George sang & wrote, arranged, created, directed & produced all of his tours & own music., His style, Pop, R&B, Jazz, soul & some swing. His collaborations were with the best of the best. Such as Aretha, Whitney, Mary J., Ray Charlies, Tony Benett, Tobie Burke, Stevie Wonder & more. George was & still is so beautiful inside & out. He did so many Tributes & Charity concerts. George sang many of Stevie Wonder's songs. In Fact, after George passed in 2016 @ 53 yrs. old on Christmas DaySteveie when asked about George He said George was God's gift to the world. I never heard truer words. I could write a book about George, but I won't, for now, maybe collectively over time, & will try too! & NOT ON PURPOSE! My suggestion for you would be FREEDOM 90, & EVERYTHING SHE WANTS. George is profusely loved from all over the world. He's performed in 68 countries up to the LIVE 25 Tour, How many more, I don't know, however, I do believe there may be more. George put his heart into everything, in his lyrics, in the music, & just plain George. When singing you will feel the love. Well my friend I hope you continue on for the full 30 + years of his magic! You will learn more about who George was, what kind of man, his artistry, kindness, & how Humble he is! The Long and Winding Road was sung so beautifully because George sung it. ‘Faith’ was the title track of George’s first solo album, released in 1987 - so Nick - depending on your age, it may be a childhood memory? It was enormous the whole world over - and fantastic. It was notable at the time for having the most US top 10 singles from one album ever - 6 I think. ‘Kissing a Fool’ is still one of my favourite songs of his. The Faith tour concert I went to at 15 is still one of the best performances I have ever seen (33 years later).

the long and winding road was the Beatles so you just know their songs whether you know it or not. Faith i'd be surprised if you'd never heard, it was number 1, huge song back in '87, he wrote it, but it was suggested he add more, so he borrowed that bit from Bo Diddley which all those on guitar were having such a great time with. Its not his greatest moment, nor with Aretha, nor with Stevie, nor with Smokie, tho he sang with them all, he was best being him. No one else could come close x
