Oh, dude, you missed Mull; it's the most beautiful of the Scottish islands. The distillery is okay, but Tobermory, where it's located, is incredible. Calgary beach resembles a Caribbean beach, and the seafood is really good. Even the takeaway food truck at the port is great.

I haven't had this one, but the barrel strength (bonded? cast strength? can't remember now) was great!

This bottle as well as the George Remus Years Old Highest Rye Bourbon Whiskey are both incredibly tasty and yes I also picked up on the oaky note on the nose, but not so much on the pallet, but then I wasn't expecting it either and they are both priced (affordable) right! 🥃Cheers!

I think this one is a blend of the regular 21% and 36% rye mash bills. The single barrel sample kits these days have one each of the 21%, 36%, and the 49% rye mash bills.

The high rye mash bill is great. I think Cowtown Bourbon Club did picks a few years ago that were phenomenal. Could’ve been DFWWC.

May take is these brands that R/S have bought will now have new age stated bottles coming out in the coming years and they will continue to purchase NBP and grow and become a giant. So instead of sourcing to them they will just buy them. Good time to invest in some of these companies. Just saying.

I was under the impression that excellent bourbon would cost $80 90 dollars a bottle. I just Google GRB whiskey at $40.00 a bottle which I think is a good price for bourbon.

OMG. The story about Remus is sooooooooooo much more involved than Daniel's explanation. If you look into the entire story of how his wife screwed him over, it was a just verdict. I'd have agreed with the jury, lol....

It has not. Ross & Squibb is the new name of the old Seagrams Distillery in Lawrenceburg. Prior to the rename, the plant itself was just referred to internallyas either "Lawrenceburg", or "The Old Seagrams Distillery", which the corporate types figured wasn't exactly good branding. MGP itself still owns Ross and Squibb (the old Seagrams plant), their Atchison plant, Lux Row, the Middletown and Sunman storage facilities, and the smaller distilleries outside DC that used to make Green Hat, although that is in the process of being shut down and the production moved to the Ross & Squibb plant.

First off, I am NO Expert here but my bottle of Bulleit Rye has 'Distilled in Lawrenceburg, IN' as a hint it's MGP ... I'm not sure about other brands/labels based on their arrangement. Cheers 🥃

MGP was making bourbon when nobody could sell it. Whiskey is hot now and and they have the product. People like the taste adn accept MGP Bourbon as a quality product. MGP has figured out, you can make a lot more money at retail than wholesale.
