@@mourad505 HAha ;) yeah that's true. "Our characters kinda sorta forgot the story they were a part of and whatever continuity defined them as characters, and the world in which they found themselves, in the past. But as it turns out that was kinda sorta convenient in terms of our budget, production schedule and general level of personal interest and investment - oh and also our writing and cognitive abilities".

After re-reading the books, it wasn't just Tyrion being from an influential family that made Bronn step up for him, but from Catelyn's POV she saw that Tyrion and Bronn would often speak together and Bronn would laugh. It was clear to me that Bronn grew to like Tyrion during their trek up the Mountains of the Moon, and even came to respect him when Tyrion demonstrated he could defend himself. The TV show just confirms that this is the case as Bronn and Tyrion become friends after this

@@SaintHanger Part of me doesn’t want it to happen either, but from a story telling perspective it makes the most sense. Tyrion losing his tongue will mirror Jaime losing his hand. If his tongue is indeed his sword, as Martin says, then each son of Tywin Lannister will lose their greatest weapons at some point. As for Euron being the one to do the deed, he has already set a prescient due to him severing a pregnant Falia Flower’s tongue before strapping her to the prow of the Silence alongside his forsaken brother, Aeron Damphair. His crew of mutes are another good example, who have each been mutilated in similar fashion. But why does Euron cut out people’s tongues, exactly? And how do a band of mutes sail a longship? Telepathy, skin changing. Euron was contacted by the Three Eyed Crow as a boy. In his own words, he dreamt that he could fly, just like Bran. He is a warg as well as possibly a greenseer. When Varamyr skin changed into Thistle, she bit out her own tongue as she fought for control, which in turn prevented Sixskins from dominating her consciousness. Euron cuts out people’s tongues so that they cannot do this whilst resisting him. With Euron and Cersei seemingly being connected in some way soon, I’d say he’ll do the same with Tyrion, skin changing and all, as a gift to her. If you think Ramsay breaking Theon was cruel, wait until Euron shows us what he is truly capable of.

@@SaintHanger Ahaha hey now, when there is a conundrum that not even the Caped Crusader can solve, he consults me. Likewise, when the Question cannot figure out a riddle, the Bat is my go to man 😅 I’d say we stand on equal footing, though there are definitely distinctions to be drawn between our methodologies, though when combined they do compliment one another wonderfully... As for Euron, I believe that he will align himself with Cersei for a few reasons. When Greyjoy smashes the Redwyne and Hightower fleets by warging into krakens and conjuring magical maelstroms through blood sacrifice, he will also offer many of his Ironborn followers as tribute to the blood ritual that he is planning to conduct. Aeron sees a vision of longships burning upon a bloody sea. With this in mind, Euron will have simultaneously gained naval superiority over the entire world, but will have also depleted his own army. Euron’s greatest weakness, despite all of his magics, strength at sea and the possibility of him gaining a dragon, was that he never had enough soldiers to capture and hold the places he wished to seize inland. This problem shall have worsened dramatically due to the Crow’s Eye depleting his own forces. This is where Cersei comes in, or rather Qyburn. The exiled Maester has already resurrected Ser Gregor Clegane. We also know that he has been fed a steady supply of prisoners from the Red Keep’s dungeons, whom he likely subjects to experimentation. Qyburn will learn more about reanimation until he essentially becomes a necromancer, but for the purposes of scientific discovery. Qyburn is essentially learning how to perform a type of magic that is used by both the forces of Ice (the Others) and Fire (the Red Priests, such as Thoros with Beric and possibly Moqorro with Victarion), but twisting it to his own agenda instead. Collecting magical knowledge so as to use it to further his own means is also a trait that Qyburn shares with Euron, making them ideal allies. I propose that when all hell eventually breaks loose in King’s Landing following the defeat of the Tyrells at the hands of Jon Connington and (f)Aegon, Qyburn shall unleash a horde of recently reanimated undead alongside Ser Robert Strong to protect Cersei from her enemies in the city, at which point they shall flee King’s Landing before the Golden Company arrive to take the Iron Throne from King Tommen. Cersei will essentially sacrifice her own son and abandon him to save herself, something Euron would appreciate and regularly does himself by sacrificing women who are pregnant with his own children. By this point, Euron will likely already have a dragon, his krakens, a large navy and a seat of power, the Hightower of Oldtown. He will also have a sea likely still filled with corpses upon his doorstep. When Qyburn and Cersei flee with their undead, they will return to the place the Maester first earned his lost chain. They will arrive at Oldtown to wait out the Long Night, which Euron shall bring forth, with the means to arm the Crow’s Eye with an undead army of his own through which to combat both his living adversaries and the White Walkers that he seeks to unleash. It is said by folk in Oldtown that Lord Leyton Hightower and the Mad Maid Malora have been studying magic in their citadel, looking for a way to oppose Euron and his Ironborn. One of the suggestions jokingly presented to Sam was that they were going to raise an army from the depths. I don’t think the Hightowers will actually do this, but I think Euron and Qyburn shall. Euron will take Oldtown by destroying most of the city’s defence at sea, then storming the port with krakens, reavers and possibly even a dragon, Viserion. When the Hightower falls, he will take Malora and Leyton prisoner and likely torture their magical knowledge from them. It’s possible he may even be able to seduce Malora into doing so, given his history, but that still remains to be seen. When Qyburn arrives, Euron shall sarcastically appoint him as his Grand Maester, having likely already pillaged the Citadel and massacred most of the Order. From there, the two of them shall resurrect all of the dead from the Battle of the Redwyne Straights as well as the Sack of Oldtown, at which point Euron could begin to mobilise his forces in order to resurrect the rest of the corpses that have been littered throughout southern Westeros. After all, who does pillaging battlefields suit more than the crow? Euron is amassing an army capable of beating the Others, hence him matching them in the use of undead infantry, whilst also countering the weakness of wights by seeking out a dragon. Euron wants to be a living god. He will unleash the Others to both destroy and distract his enemies for him, before swooping in to finish them all off himself when they have bled one another. He is like Littlefinger, who profited from both Robert’s Rebellion and the War of the Five Kings by starting them himself in order to thrive in the resulting chaos. Only Euron is doing so on a much more grandiose, macabre scale. So yeah, Cersei and Euron are fated to meet in my view. He may even arrange to have her reanimated so as to act as his Night Queen, his corpse bride. This would be interesting given that Catelyn Stark has also been turned into Lady Stoneheart, meaning the mothers of both Joffrey Baratheon and Robb Stark were each resurrected. At some point, though I’m not sure exactly when, I’d say that an engagement with Daenerys and possibly Victarion at sea will lead to Euron acquiring Tyrion and Penny. He will then present them both to Cersei and arrange to have them act as his personal court jesters. In Aeron’s vision, Euron and a pale, tall woman laugh as dwarves dance for their amusement, whilst white flames burn from the hands of the latter. This is, in my view, Euron and Cersei exploiting Tyrion and Penny. Euron will cut each of their tongues out and will skin change into them both, making them dance for him as jesters, the same way as how both Theon and Jeyne Poole were abused by Ramsay Snow. Cersei will enjoy this as she believes Tyrion to be the Valonqar and shall consider this Euron preventing the prophecy from coming true. The white flames burning from Cersei’s hands in Aeron’s vision represents Viserion, the cream scaled dragon that Euron shall use to terrorise the Stark, Tyrell, Martell and Targaryen (cough Blackfyre) enemies of his new Night’s Queen. If Sam manages to escape to the North and Aeron presumably dies early into the next book, we will need more point of view characters in Oldtown to document what Euron does there. Having Cersei arrive at some point not only moves the plot forward for Euron, but also gives us a new camera through which to watch his deeds. Then, later adding Tyrion into the equation will give us two varying perspectives on the Crow’s Eye’s endeavours, one of reverence and another of horror. This could prove very interesting indeed. I also think that, in line with the show, Jaime will ultimately kill Euron in the books. Euron will fight Daenerys over the God’s Eye lake, where each may lose a dragon in keeping with what happened to Prince Daemon and Aemond One Eye during the Dance of the Dragons. Daenerys will likely be assisted by Bran and Jon during this battle, as the Isle of Faces lies within the centre of the lake, whilst I think Jon will ride Rhaegal given that it was partially named after his father. Though, given that Euron will have essentially made Daenerys kill one of her children and possibly sacrifice another, the Crow’s Eye may still profit from this in the way of blood magic. Both will likely survive this encounter, with Daenerys still on Drogon, whilst I think Rhaegal might be the one to ultimately die. When he and Jon each fall into the lake, Euron may then use the magic generated by such a tremendous sacrifice, two dragons, to then resurrect Viserion and possibly even Rhaegal as well. This then leaves Drogon and his undead brothers to possibly duke it out come the endgame. Euron will then likely take what remains of King’s Landing after Daenerys accidentally sets off the Mad King’s wildfire caches fighting against Aegon and Jon Connington, who will also begin massacring the city’s inhabitants after being frenzied by the sound of bells, which remind him of his defeat at the hands of Robert Baratheon. With his new seat and remaining undead forces, Euron will establish his own corpse city and will wait until Daenerys and the Others each weaken one another, or battle against her remaining living foes. George RR Martin has said that he wants ASOIAF to end in a similar way to the Lord of the Rings, which had a bittersweet resonance largely due to Saruman’s scouring of the Shire. I think that part of how Martin will accomplish this is by leaving Euron waiting in the wings as the final threat, even after the conflict with the White Walkers has concluded. Then, every major character who still remains standing shall rally against him and Cersei. To this end, Jaime will attempt to avenge what he did to Tyrion and will blame Euron for Cersei becoming a monster. They will fight during the endgame, Euron will die, then Jaime will mercy kill Cersei. At which point, Sandor Clegane will also do the same thing to his undead brother, using a flaming sword to put to rest the man who first taught him to fear the flames. Both Sandor and Jaime shall fulfil the Valonqar prophecy, with Tyrion perhaps also serving a role. All three of these characters fit the bill of “little brother” necessary to be the Valonqar. My God am I excited for the Winds of Winter 😂😂😂

Bronn is a classic opportunist; he spent decades risking his life for what would seem to be little reward, so when he saw that Tyrion, a member of the richest house in all Westeros, needed someone to step in and save him, he realized it was literally a golden opportunity, the kind he would never see again. And while we don’t know for sure how it’ll end for him the books, his decision certainly payed dividends in the end.

Bronn saw the situation clearly. In a few months every soldier in Westeros would be headed towards war whether Tyrion lived or died. If he stuck with the Tully sisters he'd face mortal peril for the same meager pay as every other sell sword. If he instead sold his sword to Tyrion, he'd face mortal peril, but with a prince's ransom as his potential reward.

Bronn is very opportunistic. He joins in with helping Cat arrest Tyrion at the tavern not because he’s a banner man of the Tullys like the rest of the men who help Cat but because it’s an opportunity to work for a Great House. During the journey to the Vale however Tyrion chats up Bronn and emphasizes how rich the Lannisters are and how thankful and generous he’d be to anyone who helped him out of this mess. So it wasn’t a snap decision for Bronn to fight for Tyrion. But if Cat had talked to Bronn first and kept him away from Tyrion she could probably have got him on her side with a promise of a good position in Robb’s army. That’s why Bronn originally traveled with her party.

I like to think that Bronn is the last remaining Reyne of Castamere and he's essentially biding his time/playing the long game. He came out of nowhere and has become such a prominent character and we know absolutely nothing about him. If GRRM(or whatever finishes ASOIAF) hits us with this twist it'd be perfect.
